Excellent product, reliable too. Didn't have to look at the manual once. The skills needed to load and shoot were the same from 60 years ago when I received my first M<odel 25 as a gift from a friend. My only wish: Why can't we make these in the USA? December 23, 2014
A Great Remake of My 1961 Model 25 This current Model 25 is a wonderful remake of the pristine 1961 Model 25 that I (or my son) still have with the original box. My son loves the rifle so much from his childhood that he won't give it back. I took numerous photos of the old model 25, just for reference. This model should be sold alongside the other models that are in the stores. A simple comparison would reveal that this all-metal BB rifle with wood stock is a superb choice. I loaded this new model 25 with several 40-year old mint condition BB's just to test fire the new model 25; so that I could write this review. Thank you Dick's Sporting Goods. Your outstanding customer service person Wyatt at your new North Myrtle Beach store provided excellent help for me to order the rifle online and have it shipped to your store for my pick-up. If I were a computer wiz, I'd show photos of the 1961 model next to the current model. Daisy should be making this model forever; but preferably made in the USA as is my 1961 model 25; and please market it in retail locations everywhere. December 13, 2014
A memory from my past. About 58 years ago my father bought me a Daisy pump for my birthday. If I remember the price was about 11 dollars then. The gun is about worn out but it still works and occasionally I shoot it. When I saw that Daisy was making it again I just had to have one. It is true to the original design and when the weather breaks, I'll be in the back yard plinking away. I'm thrilled with my new old gun. March 5, 2014
This product is made well, good quality Believe it or not, we received this Daisy Model 25 Pump Air Rifle as a wedding gift! The groom's father couldn't believe that they still make these, he remembered having one many years ago, so he asked for one for Christmas! So we purchased one and gave it to him as his Christmas present. Both the groom and his dad went outside and tried their new air rifles together and were surprised at the "kick" they had. Both were delighted with the quality of the product and how well it is constructed. December 26, 2013
Great Gun But Quit Working I owned this gun for only a year and it quit working. I oiled it and checked for blockages and it doesn't shoot. November 19, 2011
Just like my first one.....almost. I like knowing a BB will come out, because of the spring fed magazine, as opposed to the gravity fed lever action models. I had my first one over 45 years ago October 12, 2011
Great beginner for my son [...] When I first gave the rifle to my son for his 7th birthday, I was a little conerned that he wouldn't be able to cyle the pump. He quickly figured out to place the stock on his thigh and give the pump a quick pull to get it to cycle all the way down. That was a week ago, now he's cycling it like a pro with both hands.(Great little work-out for him) The stock is a little longer than I anticipated, but with a little practice, he's been able to shoot it with the stock under his armpit and is fairly accurate. Hopefully, this means he'll be able to continue using this rifle as he gets older and bigger. The accuracy is pretty good for what it is. The shots are hard to get a consistant shot group, but his only concern is getting the ting sound when he hits the target, and it does that well enough. The only complaint I really have is the BB capacity. It only holds a fraction of BB's the the red ryders do. This just requires more reloading, which isn't really a deal breaker. It adds practice for my son in proper gun saftey. Barring any mechanical failure in the future, I'd say this product far exceeded my expectations. September 2, 2011
Great buy for the $$$$ I bought it for my 10 year old son for shooting at cans in the back yard and camping. It's great. I have a pump pelet rifle that's not as accurate as the model 25 that was much more expensive. It's not that difficult to reload I just wish it held more bb's. August 22, 2011
I would buy this product again. This Daisy rifle was a gift. The only difference is this rifle has wood instead of plastic. I like it better than my old rifle. August 6, 2011
I'm very pround to own this gun Some things are just timeless and this gun fits the bill. Sturdy and will last a long time and can be past down to a new generation. Maybe a red rider would be better for a very young shooter and I all ready had one for the grand kids "and me" so I bought this one since they are older now. I think a seven or eight year old could pump this gun OK. No miss fires because it has constant spring pressure against the bb's. You won't be dissapointed with this purchase. I shoot mine at a target 20 yards away and it is right on didn't have to adjust a thing the factory does a great job for you. July 2, 2011
