Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome knife Awesome knife, if you really wanted you could skin a buck right out of the package. The only thing is the blade edge going towards the tip starts to get less sharp closer to the tip on the blades curve. Just needs a few quick light swipes on a type of sharpening stone. For the price of the knife it's far worth it to buy it. A Full tang, surgical stainless steel blade. You can't go wrong. No rust and no long term chipping of the blade(problem with some fixed carbon style steel blades). I also believe the blade is actually a product of Gerber. Before ordering I found a few reviews referring a few similar Winchester knifes to have a Gerber surgical stainless steel blade. Plus when I tracked my order it shipped direcctly from a Gerber owned building(or sister company at the least), I want to say Texas or Tennessee or somewhere in the mid west. But needless to say I was happy to find that information out and be from my 100% adamancy to a 1000% pure hapy excitemebt with my purchase. Sometimes long reviews can be bad but not with this one. This blade was made for hacking through any type of game meat. Maybe not so much as a fishing fillet knife, but that's a whole nother dynamic, dont get me wrong the blade can do it. It's juat not meant for filleting. Buy this blade!!! These are made to last. My last one made it so long, it was given from my grampa to my brother then given to me over the years and still held true even till the day it vanished. May 14, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Really good Bowie Knife, just one major flaw. The only flaw about it is the blade is flimsy..... July 7, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Great knife Not the top of the line by any means, but still a nice knife. Best for display but surely can be used for all things a knife is used for. I don't think it would stand up to too much throwing. Nice and showy...I like it. August 6, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by Bowie knife The knife is fine. However the snaps on the sheath are useless. dont but this knife if u plan on wearing it. April 4, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by this product is very durable. im 23 and i hunt in pa moutians and it is very good and strong. and for everyone that tries to throw it it is not a throwing knife its more of a hunting and skinning knife. April 1, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by OK for the money Not the best quality, but OK for price. Mediocre workmanship January 4, 2013
Rated 1 out of 5 by poor quality This knife feels so unsturdy you don't even want to use it. It is not a full tang, and it is unbalanced. Don't waste your money on this knife. Good knives are made of carbon steel, and are full tang. Buy a real knife from Gerber. October 29, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by An excellent knife I use it in the back woods of the Berkshires and it does a great job. Its tough as nails and keeps a sharp edge.It can slice off small branches and can be hit on the back with another stick to make a small axe like cut..just like Bear Grylls September 10, 2012
Rated 1 out of 5 by the blade doesn't go into the handle the knife sucks the blade is glued in. the blade doesn't keep an edge.the knife will brake so easily when you use it because it's not put together I used and the thing broke and flipped around and stabbed me in the thunb winchester ya'll need to make better quality knives.
