I thought finding a bicyle bell at a bicycle shop was a no brainer. I went to 2 shops but couldn't find a bell that would fit my larger bike handle bars. All the shops carried standard size. My last shot befoe going online was at Dicks and bingo I found what I needed and the connector on the borrom of the bell was for larger handle bars.

This bike bell had the best and clearest ring. We were looking for a bike bell that sounded like the rings from our childhood. This has the best ring and is pretty loud.

I can not endorse the line that states can be projected soft to loud...it rings at one level...and rings going over every speed bump and crack in the roadway.

I've had my commuter bike for 2 years now. I bought this bell to help navigate the trails and roads of the DC area without plowing into clueless tourists. Pros: loud, and everybody knows that distinctive "brrrring brrrring" means a bicycle is behind them....as long as they don't have their earphones in & playing too loud for them to hear anything going on around them. Cons: the darn thing broke. After only 2 years. I mean, who ever heard of a bicycle bell breaking? Turns out the internal gears and pull lever are plastic. The pull lever broke right off.
