Sturdy Water Shoes w/ Effective Non-Slip Felt Soles
I recently tested my newly purchased Field & Stream Wading Shoes while fishing for trout in a local creek. I am very satisfied with the performance of these shoes. They provided comfort and security in the fast current and rocky bottom. The shoes were effective at minimizing getting off-balance in the unseen slippery conditions that can develop on the creek bottom.

Excellent pair of wading boots.
Excellent pair of wading boots. They Dry out fairly quickly. Very light weight - they are definately not heavy on the legs. Felt soles did the job in keeeping me from slipping on the rocky bottom of the Housatonic River.

Like the black felt soles
I wanted to replace the great F&S shoes years I got 4 yrs ago, but the matching style then in the store had lug soles instead of felt. These looked close to what I had before except for the vinyl-covered padded collar and felt inner sole. I use them about 50 times a year. The cost was about $20 less than the lug-sole shoes, and they were another 50% off that, so what's not to like.

Decent wading shoe for the money
I purchased these in fall of 2011. They were on sale and with the discount I ended up paying around $20 for them. They are light weight and comfortable. The felt soles are perfect for gripping rocks and river bed. They will be slippery on land (inclines with grass or mud) because of the felt soles, not treads. Overall I think they are decent for the money. The felt sole on one shoe separated after about 7 months, some of which entailed very hard wades through rocky rivers. I always took good care of the shoes and washed them with freshwater and let them drip-dry upside down. But sole separation is not uncommon and part of the wear and tear of wading boots! You wear them hard and do a lot of fishing, and that's what happens. I'll be replacing them with the same product.

Think twice!!
I'am a 9 in boot's so I got the 10 cause of my waders. 1st few outing's were good. So I fly fishing in my local lake just wearing my boot's in the water. And the 10 was still a nice fit, but the boot's like from the bottom, lost my gripping a few times and by the end of the day my ankle was all bruise up and blistering on top.

Felt Sole
I use these boots under many different conditions. Rocky and sandy saltwater beachs, rivers, and freshwater ponds. The first pair I bought, I made a mistake and bought the wrong size. Too small, but wore them anyway. The boot itself held up good, but after 2 seasons, the felt soles seperated from the boot, and the laces shredded after 1 season. Overall when the boot is new, they are very comfortable, and lightweight. The felt sole gives excellent traction on slippery rock. I've recently bought a new pair, proper size. For the money, not a bad boot, but don't excpect longevity out of them.
