Get a longer paddle
We bought the paddles according to the height of us, because that is what we were told. After using them our first day, we went back and exchanged them for longer ones. Reason being, you had to really get your arms outside the kayak and into the water to go anywhere. Now that we have the longer ones, it is soooo much nicher.

Paddle Broke 3rd time using it
This paddle was great until it SNAPPED while using it under normal conditions.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND IT. the plastic snapped right at the aluminum and luckily I made it back to shore. If i had been further from home I don't know what I would have done. Very scary.

Too short for grown up
This paddle is great for quality, however if your 5ft and over I recommend you get a longer paddle. If not you will be extremely wet with in the first 2 strokes...

It moves me
The combination of my paddle and the kayaks, one fishing and one short, can propel me quite quickly through any water. At 63 and recovering from heart surgery, using my new kayaks, I am the family's kayak race champion, beating the 39 and 29 year old boys as well as demolishing the 6 year old's chances of dethroning me. (No mercy in the family race - the 6 year old will probably reign in 10 years!) My wife chose a shorter paddle thinking it would be the best for her. Actually, a longer paddle worked best for her itty-bitty arms. I researched kayaks and Dick's had the ones I wanted for as good a price as all the other places. Their online prices were a bit cheaper for the same product, but after a couple in-store specials and discounts the in-store price was equal or better and they loaded the boats into my truck and I was on the water, with the wife, in minutes.
