Rated 4.6 out of 5 by 22 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good bench Good bench for the price of the 5.1 bench. Was easy to assemble. January 17, 2017
Rated 4 out of 5 by good purchase It's only been a few weeks, but we were very satisfied with the on-time delivery and quality of the bench so far. Using it for outdoor use, so protecting it with a tarp from the weather/UV rays. We'll see how it holds up. August 16, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Solid bench It goes together in about 40 minutes with minimal difficulty (a few bolts are hard to get in because of imperfect alignment or hard spot to reach). The bench is very sturdy and stable, but putting the back up fully is not possible, as the back pad and seat pads cannot get out of each others' way. Other than that, it's a really good product. Rated 5 out of 5 by nice and solid bench super fast delivery and the best weight bench I ever owned May 9, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Sturdy, versatile bench The bench assembly was straight forward, I had it put together in about 30 minutes max. The quality of the materials and workmanship is great. I like the range of adjustability. The only thing I would change is when you have the back at a 90 degree angle to the seat, the back and seat cushions are compressed against each other. Hopefully this will not affect long term wear. March 10, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Awesome bench! Very happy with my purchase. Bench is perfect for my work out. Adjusts very easy and allows me to spend time on my work out. Awesome bench! April 11, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Best bench for the money This is a solid bench. Well constructed and versatile with the 5 positions. For the money, much more reasonable than others I priced with same features. March 3, 2014
Rated 3 out of 5 by Okay. Not spectacular. So here's my background. Finished 2 rounds p90x, one round of body beast. Getting interested in doing more serious weight lifting; have been working with dumbbells, but thinking about getting a barbell and rack. So I wanted a solid bench, not just for dumbbell work, but possibly also for barbell as well.On the pro side, the Bowflex bench is solid. Doesn't wobble. Adjustable seat is nice -- seat can be on decline when rest of bench is incline, so you won't slide off when doing incline press. This being said, design and manufacture quality is only middling. One of the two holes / screws for the upper piece of the back rest was miss drilled and won't mate. Still usable, but annoying. The gap between the seat and back is quite large when bench is flat (maybe 5 in): still usable and there are work arounds, but there are also plenty of other benches that don't have this issue. It's a design flaw.Another problem is the height of the bench. I'm on the short side (5'7"), and my feet don't reach ground when bench is flat. That's a problem for serious bench press work. I've been using a couple of aerobic steps as a stop gap, but its annoying to spend $200 and then to realize that I have to find ways to work around design flaws in the equipment. What I didn't fully realize until after I bought the Bowflex bench is that there are lots of alternatives that are more expensive, and offer more for the money. The next price point up is about $280, and I suspect would not have some of the flaws I've found in the Bowflex. One example at this price point is the Powertec bench, which is heavier, more adjustable, and apparently has better wheels. So in a nutshell, if you have the opportunity to actually try the Bowflex bench out before buying, then do -- depending on your height, maybe the proportions will work better for you. If not, keep in mind that there are lots of other bench choices out there, and an extra $70 may buy you a better alternative for serious lifting. December 26, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Excellent! Worth the $$$ I love this bench! So easy to put together, my husband had it assembled in minutes. The bench is very sturdy, does not wobble when using it. It is very easy to use, changes from flat to incline to 90 degrees by just lifting, the bar easily moves up the pre-set notches. I am very happy with this bench, it is a bit large so it needs some space but can be moved. It has wheels on one side to help move it but is a little heavy to move across my carpet although I can move it on my own. I love the cushions, very comfortable to use. My husband even joked that this would make a great gaming chair! Very comfortable to use with the leg holds for sit ups. I have an old back injury which makes it impossible to do sit ups on the floor, I did them easily on this bench. Just like the other reviewers, I noticed it does have a small gap between the cushions so I just rolled up a small hand towel and stuffed it in the gap, which I use to towel off when I am done working out. This is a great bench, I am so glad I splurged and got this one instead of the cheaper versions, worth every $$$!!! September 11, 2013
Rated 5 out of 5 by Good equipment Received product a couple of weeks ago. First, I was pleased with quality of the materials. Second, the assembly was easy and intuitive. Third, the functionality and ease of use make it a nice addition to my home gym. Finally, I can store it by standing it on its end; minimizing the space requirement. Overall a very nice product.
