Another fantastic SOG product I've had the Trident Tanto for over a year now and I absolutely love it. This blade has been through it all and it still has a decent edge. I go hiking in the woods several times a week and I always have two SOGs in my pocket: this and the flash II. The aus8 steel is shaving-sharp out of the box and holds its edge for months and months. The only problem I have with the blade is finding a sharpener that's able to take on such a tough steel. The glass-reinforced nylon handle is much more durable than you would think and the black tini coating is extremely rust and scratch resistant. The assisted opening is awesome and convenient to use. One of my must-haves when knife shopping is the ability to easily open and close with one hand; the trident's arc-actuator lock provides just that. The tanto point is wicked strong and great for precise cutting. The 3.75" blade is perfect for any challenge you throw at it; I even chopped down a small tree with it on my latest excursion. If you need a rugged, low-profile tactical knife, the SOG Trident Tanto is the knife for you. September 25, 2013
Fantastic knife I love this knife I carry it with me everywhere I go it has a very sharp blade right out of the box and it keeps it's edge I have yet to sharpen it. I love it's ability to cut paracord and fishing line without having to open the blade and has a great grip and won't slip out of your hand when using it June 9, 2013
Great value Great product. I bought it for hunting and I now use it for much more. May 14, 2013
Perfection SOG Has nailed it with this one. The quality is impeccable and the fit and finish reflect that. It is well balanced and lightning fast to open. The G10 grip is well thought out and the machined SOG logo in the clip is a subtle way to show it off. This is my new favorite daily carrier thanks to the blade opening safety for pocket carrying. I use a Maxpedition sheath most days and this knife replaces my Ferox. May 6, 2013
Sog trident review Great knife overall. Would have been five stars, but the assisted open spring is creaky upon return. April 24, 2013
Exactly How a Knife Should Be! Excellent, exactly how a knife should be Flawless cuts even thru rubber, light weight love the Black Detailed Handle on it! Absolutely amazed awesome Knife, definitely will be buying more! March 19, 2013
Great knife! But not the best I purchased this for a friend as a gift. The open-assist is a little heavy. The locks work great. The handle/housing is really big compared to the blade. The design is cool but nothing that will change the operation of the knife. The blade has been great so far but it isn't as thick or heavy as I'd like. I carry a CRKT M14-SF, this SOG is like it's little brother. Good purchase as a gift. March 12, 2013
My SOG @ Dick's great experience My Salesperson at Dick's was very helpful. He showed me the SOG Trident and which allowed me to understand all of its many features. When he was done I found that Dick's had a great sale price and they allowed me to use my rebate coupon towards the purchase. Thank you Dick's, I am a happy boy! March 5, 2013
Best Knife Ever This is by far the greatest pocket knife I have ever owed. It is sleek, good-looking, and incredibly useful. The blade is extremely sharp and holds up under pressure. SOG specialty knives are by far the best knife I have ever encountered. February 27, 2013
Nice carry blade Picked this up a couple weeks ago, very nice heavy blade, well sharpened out of the box, seems to be holding edge fairly well. My first "open assist" folder...It is slick! Takes less than a couple ounces of thumb pressure to get it moving. Highly recommend for a daily carry or utility knife. February 26, 2013
