pretty long and decent
Can Cut down trees pretty fast and easily with no problem i like it

Ready to go out of the box.
Works as advertised. Deceivingly sharp out of the box. Grip is comfortable and easy to use. It's a little awkward to keep consistant pressure on the sawblade side with the horizontal handle, but it still gets the job done on. Was able to cut through a 2-1/2" branch with no problem. Worth the money. Would buy again.

Would have kept it if...
I eneded up not even taking it out of the packaging, because after doing a little more research on this item, I discovered that the blade is not full tang. Not a great idea for a machete (or any fixed blade tool for that matter).

Gerber Gator Machete is good but not sha
The machete is well made and sturdy. But, when I first opened it, it was not sharpened. It took a couple of hours to sharpen the dull blade but after that it works well. It should come with a sharpener!

Best Machete I have Ever Owned
Easy to sharpen. GREAT handle for safe use and comforatable fit. Has a saw on back part of the blade. Works great well built a must have for any outdoors man

manufacturing defect
Purchased 2nd Machete. Blade on 1st one was not finished,, no keen edge i.e. blade not sharpened. Trying to locate (unused) Machete to return for refund (wife put it somewhere).The replacement machete I recently Purchased is okay. Quality control by GERBER was lacking but again, I'm satisfied with the second one I purchased. Comments below apply to first machete I purchased.
