Rated 5 out of 5 by 1013 Great Product for Great Price This machete is very useful and despite what most people say it is durable and works great. The front blade is not the sharpest it could be, but sure gets the job done. The saw on the back edge is razor sharp. I use this tool on the job as a search and rescue official for a national park. It has no problem clearing an area for a base camp or any other task I put it to. The only thing I see that needs improvment is the sheath, after so many uses the saw blade chews up the top part of the sheath and causes the fabric to shread. March 19, 2012
Rated 3 out of 5 by K Well... the blade is not good I purchased this machete about a month ago and i was very happy to use it. Out of the box it was fairly sharp, but you will want to sharpen it. I was soon chopping some bigger sticks About 1 inch in diameter and the machete cut them apart easily. I have also taken out 7 large hedges with them and it took them right out. But when i went camping i was cutting a stick about 1 inch diameter and it bent the blade side ways!!!! This would not be an easy repair unlike the other nicks in the machete. Over all the saw on the back is great but the blade bends and nicks easily. July 5, 2014
Rated 5 out of 5 by The Wright White Grub worth every penny i chop away branches and weeds when i go fishing to make a trail to a spot that looks like a fish jackpot. i also use it camping to get fire wood. the price is unbelievable, i thought gerber stuff was exspensive...not this April 9, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Glenn Ready to go out of the box. Works as advertised. Deceivingly sharp out of the box. Grip is comfortable and easy to use. It's a little awkward to keep consistant pressure on the sawblade side with the horizontal handle, but it still gets the job done on. Was able to cut through a 2-1/2" branch with no problem. Worth the money. Would buy again. October 4, 2012
