Conflicts The reviews for this product have too many conflicts. Some same it's the greatest while others call it garbage. The Gerber name is good, but I can't believe the range of opinions. December 2, 2014
garbage Wanted to like this product as it has great features unfortunately, the blade material is garbage as normal use on appropriate vegetation has left the blade with multiple puckers (small bends) rendering it useless. It's going back. August 16, 2014
Well... the blade is not good I purchased this machete about a month ago and i was very happy to use it. Out of the box it was fairly sharp, but you will want to sharpen it. I was soon chopping some bigger sticks About 1 inch in diameter and the machete cut them apart easily. I have also taken out 7 large hedges with them and it took them right out. But when i went camping i was cutting a stick about 1 inch diameter and it bent the blade side ways!!!! This would not be an easy repair unlike the other nicks in the machete. Over all the saw on the back is great but the blade bends and nicks easily. July 5, 2014
heavy duty hitter For light work or heavy brush, this tool is well worth it. March 10, 2014
Clears the brush ProsIt's a beauty, it just screams lets go that extra mile in the bush.Has that high carbon metal ring when you hit a big branch.Has not bent in the heavy stuff lime the cheap ones do.Good strong handle stops some vibration when wacking the big stuff.Quality nylon sheath with a lock in strap. It's my new addition to my bug-out apocalypse backpack.ConsNone, should last a good long time. Great buy Just as advertised! I'm a surveyor, we use machetes often. This is perfect for my line of work! Well worth the money. Highly recommend if on the fence May 24, 2013
pretty long and decent Can Cut down trees pretty fast and easily with no problem i like it March 14, 2013
Ready to go out of the box. Works as advertised. Deceivingly sharp out of the box. Grip is comfortable and easy to use. It's a little awkward to keep consistant pressure on the sawblade side with the horizontal handle, but it still gets the job done on. Was able to cut through a 2-1/2" branch with no problem. Worth the money. Would buy again. October 4, 2012
Would have kept it if... I eneded up not even taking it out of the packaging, because after doing a little more research on this item, I discovered that the blade is not full tang. Not a great idea for a machete (or any fixed blade tool for that matter). July 23, 2012
Very flimsy and not sharp at all!!!!! Would not recomend. Sad for the Gerber name! June 24, 2012
