Awesome Product. Great product. Very Nice Little Knife. I have used it just over a month now in the woods and has not let me down yet like other products have. I though mine was dull at first to but it seemed to just have a wax coating which came off after a couple uses. awesome product so far. May 1, 2014

Strong and Compact I went with the Jr. to have it fit on my ultralight pack for long hikes. The saw side is great for 1" branches and it cuts like butter through the vines and tall grass. July 22, 2013
Well worth it The Gerber Gator Jr. is a good buy for the money. It came relatively sharp and is easy to sharpen. I bought it as a light weight camp tool. It weights under a pound and chops wood as well as my 1.6 pound hatchet. The saw cut decently, but was a little slow. I had it sharpened and it cut a little faster but not as fast as my 7" folding saw. I think this is mainly because the Jr. has a wider blade. It did fine splitting kindling with a batton and the saw teeth held up to the cottonwood battoning. With gloves or a rag over the saw teeth, it worked pretty well as a draw knife also. Although the handle is not full tang, I think it will hold up OK if it is not abused too badly. The handle is very comfortable. In the sheath, it slipped in nicely in the space behind the pocket on my Allison pack. Overall it's a handy tool that fulfills a number of camp chores very well for those who are concerned about weight. For those who want to see if a small machete is for them, this is a good way to go. You can always upgrade latter if you like. June 19, 2013

FOR THE MONEY THIS IS GREAT I cut down a pine tree about as big around as a mason jar & it worked great. The limbs came off in one stroke each & the tree into in about a dozen strokes. Great for small jobs. February 27, 2013
