Great rod with all accessories
Thought it would be perfect for teaching my kids to fish -- it was great for me too!! Easy to set-up and use. Loved the accessories, so we didn't have to go figure out what else to buy. May need another since they get tired of taking turns!

Great for kids
My daughter was excited to have her own fishing pole. It's easy to use and should hold up. Great for beginners.

Avoid It
My wife and I just got into fishing and she wanted a "Pretty" pole and liked the pink until she started fishing with it. It is a very poor caster even for short distance and horrible drag. She caught a 3 or 4lb fish which took forever to get in from 12 feet out and once by the dock I ended up pulling it up by the line. she also lost a fish because it would not reel fast enough giving the fish time to get under the dock. I also bought a 404 unit with many of the same issues. We will probably end up with the Zebco 33 my dad uses with better performance and I caught a 8-9lb northern with it and got it in with ease.

it is good rod for beginners
we like it alot I got it for my friend who just started fishing last month.She just couldn't get the hang of the open face reels or even a quick release so I went and got this for her birthday.
