I could not tell if the unit was on or not. It would not sync to my ipod without "walking around". Never did synch when I walked around. Sure it's a great product but didn't work for me.

Great tool to track indoor workouts during the winter. I haven't used it outside yet. Device would not sync with my iphone 4s at first. I shut the phone off and turned it back and it activated right away.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Runner not rider For running - NOT THE ELLIPTICAL
Never written a review in my life, but this sensor works perfectly when used for running NOT for the elliptical. An elliptical is not running and this is not designed to measure that.
If you identify any issues with the distance, you can calibrate how far you've run per treadmill or outside. That will help the sensor to determine your stride length and therefore accurately measure.

I am a HUGE nike fan but for me this is just an average product. Not very accurate and unreliable. However, i did not use it in the shoe, I use it in my pocket. FOr the money it is an okay product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by wakes13 not too thrilled with this product
I bought this sensor to put in the new Nike sneakers I purchased so I can track my time/distance when I'm at the gym. I do have an iPhone 4S which the sensor sends the information to your phone. Well I'm not sure, maybe it's not accurate or maybe it's operational error. Although I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong. The elliptical machine that I'm on will say I when 2.30 miles, but the sensor is only showing .91miles. tried again next day, elliptical says 2.55 miles, sensor is 1.67miles. I tried to calibrate it, when I went the 2.55 miles, but the max it would let me adjust it to was 1.77miles. So tried again today, went exactly 2 miles (stated the elliptical machine), but sensor states I only went 1.76miles. and couldn't adjust it to the 2miles. tried yet again, went .25miles, sensor states I went .21, could only adjust to the max of .23. Like I said, can't figure out what is the issue or why the numbers are so off. There is no instructions with the sensor other than some information about the sensor is only designed to last 1000 hrs. there isn't any recharging the battery or replacing the battery. They recommend taking the sensor out when it's not needed to prolong the life. So basically in roughly (if your lucky) 1000, you will have to purchase yet another sensor. It's a waste of money to keep buying new sensors. wished they would of made it that you can replace or recharge the batteries. Not sure what to do yet to get a correct distance.

I recently replaced my Nike plus sensor that I purchased at Christmas. I use it every day to track my run distance, time, calories, and pace. I think it is a great way to stay motivated and keep track of training for races!
The only complaint I have is that I had to replace it after less than a year.
