Great whistle! I am a roller derby referee, and I LOVE this whistle! Mine has been dropped, skated over and still works fine. Tone is clear and REALLY loud- loud enough to be heard all over the track even with a shouting crowd. I highly recommend this! November 14, 2012

Not for hockey referees We bought this whistle for our son's hockey ref school, but it sounds like a toy whistle from a cereal box. It is totally made of plastic and doesn't live up to the Fox 40 reputation. You should carry the metal version for those serious about their referee duties. October 16, 2012
Great whistle Just about every soccer referee in the state of Minnesota has a Fox 40 whistle. They work well, and have a good sound that can be heard across the field. I like the two finger design because it keeps the whistle better on hand than a lanyard, in my opinion. July 25, 2012
Not worth the cost Difficult to make a loud sound and since it is permanently attached to the finger bracket, this could not be replaced. Expensive piece of garbage. May 14, 2012
