Patagonia Men's Drifter GORE-TEX Hiking Shoe
Regarding Patagonia Men's Drifter GORE-TEX Hiking Shoe
The Patagonia Drifter (Gore-Tex) hiking shoe are the best pair of hiking shoes I have owned. I have had them for three years now and they are light, dry, comfortable, and do not look obnoxious should you decide to wear them when you're not hiking.

Never owned or bought anything from Patagonia before, saw them on the display and gave them a shot. The fit was excellent and way better than others I tried. I have had the usual $50-$60 hikers that don't last a year. These are definitely worth the extra money even if your aren't going to use them as they were probably intended, hiking around the wilderness keeping you supported, dry and comfortable. My feet feel great even after standing & walking around all day in them.

Definitely would buy again!
Very comfortable, can wear all day and feet are not sore.

Had to return them
I really liked the look of these boots, and they felt fine when I tried them on at the store, but after wearing them for a few hours, my lower back was killing me. I did not wear them for a few days, but when I wore them again my back pain came back and has lasted for a few days. I think the arch is way too high for me personally. Dick's took them back, no questions asked. Good service.

Very poor traction on wet surfaces.
Very comfortable shoe out of the box. Walking on wet rocks with them can be an adventure. I have the bruises and nicks to prove it.

I almost never write reviews, but I saw the previous comment and had to share my experience. Im sort of a shoe snob, and couldnt be happier with the pair I bought myself for xmas this past year. One of the best pair of shoes I have ever had. I am buying myself a pair of patagonia loafers as I write this based on this experience.

not enough bang for your buck
I use these boots hiking trails with my golden retriever. They are a comfortable well constructed boot with little to no brake in time. The only draw back is the vibram sole are stiff with very little give making them overly slick on wet surfaces. Not worth the money.
