Rated 5 out of 5 by Saved a washed out Memorial day We've all been there, you save up for that big outdoor vacation, make the reservations 6 months in advance, and then when you get there, it rains for 4 out of the 5 days you're there. That's the risk you take, but we made the most out of a bad situation. What made things worse though was that our cabin's kitchenette had no vent, and the grill outside was a good distance away with no shelter. No way to cook = no way to feed a starving family...not good. So daddy got on google maps, found the closest Dick's and raced out there to pick up this camping stove which I'd had my eye on for some time anyway. I picked it up with 2 1lb propane tanks and raced back to the cabin. It set up and worked flawlessly and contrary to what I had thought, there is a little flame control. If I had to describe it, think of 10 knob positions from low to high. Position 1 is low, position 2 is a little hotter, then positions 3 - 10 are flame thrower. Not a big issue, but it took some fiddling around positions 1-3 to find the right heat so I didn't burn the burgers. Half a tank went about 20-30 minutes so stock up on those, but at a couple bucks, they won't put a huge dent in your bank account. There is also a coupler you can buy to hook this up to a 20lb tank, but that's a review for another day. The unit is packable, it's simple to set up - we were cooking inside of 5 minutes from the moment I got home. We paired this up with a Lodge double sided cast iron griddle which fits like a glove on this burner and allows you to cook a lot at one time. For the price, the value and quality couldn't be beat. The flame control could be better but for the price what can you expect. This burner saved what would have been a complete washout of a vacation so yes, color me extremely pleased with this purchase. Rated 5 out of 5 by Finally had to buy another one. Hurricane Sandy is heading our way and I took out our old Coleman stove to be sure if it still worked. Well, it didn't. I can't believe it lasted only 40 years. Went right to Dick's and bought the last one on the shelf. Highly recommended. October 27, 2012
Rated 5 out of 5 by Could not be happier!!!!!! This little stove does it all and is very compact and lightweight for car or boat camping - worked great over labor day in the Adirondacks! Heats up quickly! I would buy another if I lost this one...you won't be disappointed. October 17, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by Nice, inexpensive camp stove Yes, it feels a little flimsy, and the knobs go from almost no flame to full blown torches at the slightest touch, but then again, you're not paying a lot of money for a stove that is extremely portable and lightweight. I really enjoy the fact that its case also doubles as a wind shield. Well designed, well thought out. But you do get what you pay for, so don't expect precision from the knobs. May 20, 2014
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good cooker for the money Super simple item. The burner control knobs do take a little getting used to and require a fine touch as they are finicky, but you can get them to adjust just fine once you figure it out. For the price, I would buy this again. Heats up your water for coffee and cooks up your eggs n bacon just fine. It's a great unit, only gave it 4 stars because of the finicky burner controls. Rated 5 out of 5 by Great camping stove We've used the stove for multiple meals on two camping trips already and are very happy with it. The only tricky part is getting the burner temp right, the dial starts On at low and goes to high within a 1/4 turn. August 15, 2013
Rated 4 out of 5 by Decent cook stove for the money I bought two of these for my scout patrols. They are the perfect size, durable and easy to clean. We'll see how well they take a beating over the Summer and beyond, but I expect to get years of service out of them. Be sure to store your regulator in a plastic bag or you'll have spiders clog it up. May 7, 2012
Rated 4 out of 5 by good but need improvement Ignition system would be highly beneficial for both consumer convenience snd company sales. July 22, 2014
