BSA Optics Sweet 22 Rifle Scope 4.5 5 32 32
Price and Perfomence in one package Can't beat the performance for the money. The optics are clear and precise, the cam adjustments are easy and quick. I mounted the scope in less than fifteen minutes and sighted it in in less than five shots. The best part of the process is the results, I know they may be typical, but I was shooting 1/8 inch 5 shot groups at 25 yrds and slightly over 1/4 fifty yrds with Win Bulk 333 Hp 1280 V rds. Have not even touched my target ammo yet. That's from a Ruger 10-22 tricked out. Even got it with a 20% discount and shipping was fast. The only reason for four stars is a couple of scratches on the housing just below the turrets. February 28, 2013
design flaw I knew prior to purchase that the BDC is a gimmick, so I won't fault BSA for that. Ballistics are arrived at by velocity and weight (among other factors) so for example a 40gr bullet with a muzzle velocity of 1250fps would use a different BDC turret than a 40 gr bullet with a muzzle velocity of 1070fps. The turrets are labeled by weight alone. Lile I said, I'm not faulting BSA for that.I am however holding BSA accountable for using either too small or too soft of a set screw for the BDC turrets. They are so fragile that I stripped the socket heads of 3 of the set screw fasteners while LOOSENING them. Not the threads, but the hex sockets themselves. Makes me very nervous about putting others back in. BSA refused to send replacement screws. I think that is an unacceptable level of pennypinching. Probably $2 between the cost of a few tiny set screws and postage would have meant a better rating. Not perfect, but better. February 13, 2013
design flaw Mounted on Marlin XT-22. used Weaver 12 bases and Grand Slam high because medium didn't clear rear sight. Scope is okay. Optics are clear but AO doesn't change focus at all so you can't use it to estimate range. BDC turrets are held in place by TINY set screws that are poor quality. Two of them were stripped upon removal from the turret. Use very light force to remove and tighten; be SUPER careful when turning them. BSA customer support told me that screws are not a manufacturing defect so they're not covered under warranty; I have to pay for replacements. It's a poor design to use screws that strip that easily. Don't buy this scope unless you get it dirt cheap. It came with 36, 38 February 6, 2013
Great for the price Great service, at a great price. Never had a problem that Dicks did'nt solve. December 11, 2012
Sweet 22 Great scope! Put it on a Ruger 10/22 and it is very clear and easy to adjust. Also came with two metal end caps. Dick's mounted and bore sighted it free of charge which made it "sweeter". November 13, 2012
Excelllent scope for the money Extremely accurate from 50 to 100 yds. Easy to sight in. Best 22 scope for the money. November 7, 2012
Beautiful scope Quality and accurate. Purchased my first BSA Sweet 22 to go on my new Mossburg plinkster for squirrel hunting. Took it to the range and sighted it in at 50 yards, shortest distance on range adjustable scope. shot 40 rounds all in a 1/2 group. then set adjustment to 100 yard and shot 40 rounds all in a 1-1/4 inch group sight was dead on. I moved to 150 yards, adjusted the scope to the 150 yd mark and shot 40 rounds with a 2-1/2 inch group very impressed. Purchased second BSA Sweet 22 for my 43 year old Marlin, and at 50 yards again super tight group, however when I went to 100 yards, shot a tight group 1" but 2-1/2 high. I backed off scope to 75 yard mark, and put it right on the bull, and tight 1" group. While I would have liked the second one to be as accurately as adjustable as the first, it's a problem I can easly live and chose not to return for another. Really don't expect to shoot a squirrel over 100 yards anyway. The abulity to shoot with out having to figure bullet drop is great, and the three adjustment knobs for bullet weight and fantastic, change bullets and weights without having to resight in is excellent. For one who wears glasses except when I hunt, found range focal adjustment great. Very impressed with the BSA Sweet 22. October 17, 2012
