This doesn't work well at all... It's cheap but if it doesn't work what's it worth?

Rated 4 out of 5 by jtslpowley Inconsistent but expected for the price
The "Field & Stream Hand Target Thrower" is about what I expected for the low cost, broke or flew about 25 of the 90 clay birds due the plastic either being too tight or or too loose. Again for the cost of the item is a solid buy just be prepared to waste some clays.

Use with a baseball bat motion and it works perfect.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Mammal Doesn't fit the clay targets also sold by Dick's
The Champion clays also sold by Dick's have a rim just a bit thicker than the groove in the thrower. It fit another brand OK. I had to remove a bit of material for this to work with the Champion clays. Build quality is good otherwise.

This was only so so. 30% of the targets did not fit and was also tricky to throw at times.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Don Pigeon will not release
What am I missing? The clay pigeons will not release from the thrower due to extremely tight fit. They are 4 and 1/2 inch in diameter well within the advertised diameter rating of up to 5 inches. Will no doubt break if I attempt to expand.

It did exactly what I bought it for quite well. It was also a fairly good price.
