Rated 5 out of 5 by great stone Great stone ... BUT ... DON'T use without honing oil, which is nit sold at Dicks sporting goods .. Using the stone without honing oil causes the pores to fill destroying the stone. April 14, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Very disapointed I use several whetstones, and this is by far the worst. Do not recommend. March 24, 2015

Rated 5 out of 5 by nice size sharpener stone nice full size stone with good base mounting. cover fits securely on base for storage. February 26, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by great stone Great stone and a very nice base that comes in closed with lid February 17, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Very satisfied Before I even got the product home, the adhesive used to glue the stone to the base had already broken free from the stone. However, I didn't mind in the least because of the way the base is designed. The base is recessed, allowing the stone to rest slightly inside of the base. This allows water to be poured into the base to allow the stone to soak up the water for 15 minutes before working with it. When I'm ready to use it, I simply turn the stone over, pour a little more water in the base, and while I'm using it the other side is absorbing more water. After a few minutes working with it, I simply turn the stone over again and continue. This way the stone retains better moisture to do the work it needs to do. After I'm done sharpening a few knives with this stone, I finish up to a razor sharpness with a fine ceramic stone. Additionally, the base also does an adequate job of holding the stone steady on a table, provided the rubber feet remain dry and you don't apply too much pressure. February 15, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Works well for young scouts I bought this sharpening stone to teach my Bear Cub Scout den how to sharpen their pocket knives. It has grips on the bottom of the base which worked well on the table to hold the stone steady making it safer for the boys. February 3, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great sharpening tool ! This Stone keeps my Knives, Hatchet & Tomahawk razor sharp. I recommend it to any hunter or outdoorsman that takes their equipment seriously. January 13, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by The product has the ability to bring the right blade to its desired sharpness. I have used Arkansas stones in the past and was not afraid that this product would not accomplish what I wanted it to do. Used with a good oil and kept clean, this stone will sharpen your knife. Rated 4 out of 5 by This product work as expected I purchased this product about 2 weeks ago so I could sharpen some of my survival and non cooking knifes. The stone sharpened my knifes as I expected although it took a little time to get the sharpening angle correct to get a good edge. I lubricated the stone with simple tap water and it worked fine. May try a light oil next time to see if there is any difference. All in all a good sharpening stone for the cost. September 10, 2014
