Scent kept on working This wkd. the rain did not want to stop. Rather than search for turkeys, I jumped up in my treestand. Before, i did I kicked out a faux scrape and doused it with some Code Blue. In addition, about 15 yards from the scrape I doused some rutting buck scent, included with this Code Blue package. If a big buck were in the area, he might be lured by the scrape, and if not, by an intruder buck that came into the area. I could not stay out long. The rain was cold and penetrating. I did not think the lure would last either in the continuous downpour. An hour into my vigil, a young buck strolled into range, not beleiveing that a doe was hot in the area. He was anxious to come in. He was not a shooter, so i was anxious for him to leave, but he caught whiff of that buck urine and he took off running anyway. Great attraction that penetrated the weather! I packed it up about an hour after the little one left. October 28, 2012
