Wright & McGill Sabalos Spinning Reels 4.4 5 41 41
Was impressed at first - but don't believe the dunkable claim Initially thought reel was great. After fishing for a couple of seasons - boat, kayak and surf fishing - the reel isn't holding up as well as hoped. Have experienced bubbling of paint/finish on two reels. Always fresh water rinse, wipe down and reel magic or pledge after each use. Two reels suffered short dunks in the salt water. Rinsed thoroughly with fresh water, reel oil and corrosion block - still beginning to lock up. I would say for the price, they are good reels, but the claims of handling the worse saltwater fishing conditions do not hold true. May 2, 2013
oh well It was broken in the box, the reel it self was cool looking, but it clicked when you reeled on it. So I looked at it and the bail was broken.....fresh out of the box!!! No line on it or nothing. I don't think I'll be trying it again April 28, 2013
Hold up well in kayaks I own a model 2000 and like it so I went up a couple of sizes for more line capacity. Overall good real for the money March 30, 2013
product has great features rod & reel combo matched up great. great casting rod March 28, 2013
Not Bad For The Price I've been using these reels on the Flats Blue rods for a couple years & really have no major complaints. I'm pretty rough on the gear & they've held up pretty well, just need to be cleaned well after use in saltwater, especially if they get wet. If left with saltwater on them they tend to show signs of rust around the plastic plate on the back of the reel. I have used the 3000 & 3500 series of this reel from small trout on the flats to huge snook under the bridges with no problems. March 27, 2013
Nice Reel I love this reel. It will cast so far. Installed braid 20# on it. March 26, 2013
Wright & McGill Sabalos Spinning reel is the BEST This is a Great Spinning Reel, I have put it to the test already catching several Redfish and a couple 5 pound Trout. March 18, 2013
Good but...... This reel is great for redfish and snook but I hooked a 100plus tarpon and the drag just started to feel and sound different.i recommend this reel for nothing bigger than a cobia January 21, 2013
Great Reel I love my Sabalos i have the 2500 4000 7000 they never let me down. November 29, 2012
Nice reel These are great reels especially for the money but you have to keep up regular maintenance (cleaning, rinsing, oiling) once every few months or when the reel starts to lose peformance and theyre good as new September 27, 2012
