Rated 5 out of 5 by 2 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Wasn't Sure About Switching Berkeley Trilene XL has always been my line of choice and I've been very pleased with the results. I wanted to try a 100% Fluorocarbon line after reading the pros and cons of using this line. I am pleased to say that I really like this line. The line itself is definitely more stiff but it is also more sensitive. I always make sure to wet the knot and haven't had a knot fail yet. The cast ability of this line isn't much different than Monofilament for me. I adjusted my hook set to compensate for the stiffer line. Adding more or less weight allows me to control the lines sinking ability as this line doesn't sink as fast as Monofilament. Putting this line in a glass of water beside Monofilament line shows its more transparent characteristics. I have been very pleased with this line and glad I gave it a try. September 22, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by 7 seconds I must say it held up great under the circumstances . My rig consisted of a Berkley 5ft 6 light rod witch is named The Golden Rod. and 4lbs fluorocast . The trout hit the lure light and set the hook . The fish broke water and let me know it had no intentions of being caught . I had complete control for 7 seconds . Then it took of down stream at a nice pace . The rod was bent over like a 20 dollar puta . After adjusting the drag I realized it was big ! The reel didn't squeal it was a high pitch metal to metal scream . Like I hooked up to a freight train I had the sinking feeling of not stopping this fish. I pulled hard and walk through the water ,stumbling over rocks , slipping at every step . In the dark ! Well after about 20 minutes & 150 yards of my line stretched down stream .I made the decision to hold my ground me or the fish. The sound of the line breaking was echoed though the mountain area.. When getting back to my fishing area everyone herd it . And thought the Golden Rod had snapped like a dry twig in the woods, but she held for another day. The line is gone away and I will never think of buying another brand of line. It held the line ,pulled it's weight . June 3, 2016
