Rated 2 out of 5 by Good Bike Terrible Shifters - Try First The overall bike is great for the cost. My major complaint is that the grip shifters are nearly impossible to rotate. I purchased both the 20" and 24" for my two daughters and they can only shift the gears down but not up. I took the bikes back to Dicks to see if they could fix the issue, but they were not able to do anything to make the shifting any easier. I can barely shift the gears down so there is no way by 8 and 11 year old daughters can do it. I have contacted the company and they seem willing to help but I think in the end I am going to have to spend my own money at another bike shop to replace the shifters. JUST MAKE SURE TO TRY THE GRIP SHIFTERS BEFORE YOU BUY so you don't run into the same problem we have had. A simple google search finds that this has been an issue on these bikes for several years, but they are still being sold. August 24, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Granddaughter loved it Bought for my 9 year old granddaughter. We had to lower the seat all the way down, but thought the 20" bicycles looked too small for her. She loved it. It is well made and pretty. Very pleased. My favorite thing was that nobody had to put it together. I ordered it, had it sent to the Dicks in her home town and her mama just drove down there and picked it up. Perfect! April 30, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Love the Bike Bought this for my 7 year old daughter to grow into. The bike is a little big for her but she is able to go and stop with out a problem The only problem we had was the front brake would not release at one point but we took it to Dick's and they said that it had not been put together properly so they fixed it! Rated 5 out of 5 by Great deal on great bike Great bike on sale so great value. Only thing didn't plan was to assemble ourselves since the wait time at store was too long. Understandable though at Christmas time. January 12, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good bike, but two complaints First off, the online purchasing was easy, and the Dick's store assembly was quick and done well. Now, for the actual bike. Overall, it's a good bike in this price category. The tires are large and knobby, it looks great, the seat is comfortable, and the handlebars well placed. Also, to get 21 speeds at this price is pretty cool. My daughter has ridden about 10 miles on it so far, and it's working well. My main complains are that there is no place on the bike frame for a water bottle. More importantly, although there are 21 speeds, the left-hand shifter (#1-3), are not labelled, there is just a "+" sign for up, and a "-" sign for down. The child has to listen for the shift, and find the sweet spot in order to make the shift happen. Now, the right shifter is labeled 1-7, no problem. But for some unknown reason, the left shifter has this confusing system, which makes it more difficult for the child to learn and operate. January 12, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Purchase all around This was an amazing purchase for me. The price was right and the bike was shipped for free. I could have had the bike assembled for free at any Dicks location with proof of purchase. I did not find this out until I struggled with the assembly myself. Most importantly, this was one of my daughters Christmas gifts, and she loves it. January 12, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect In-Between Bike This is the perfect "in between" bike for our 55" tall 11 year old. Many of the 24" bikes were too big, and the 20" were too small. We shopped around at many big box stores until we found this one and it was the perfect size. We bought this in store and they matched the online price which was cheaper by about $40. Plus I used a $20 coupon on top of that. It was like going to your local bike shop as they spent a lot of time with us answering questions, etc. He gave the bike a thorough inspection before leaving the store, and our daughter loves her first mountain bike. The gears are easy for her to change, the seat adjusts easily with a lever, the seat is comfortable, and the bike has nice smooth ride. We added a kickstand and bought the 2 year protection plan. I totally recommend the 2 year protection plan as the price for this cost half than a tune-up at our local bike store. First purchase with Dick's and we were impressed with their customer service the whole way through. You guys are AWESOME!!! November 27, 2015
Rated 5 out of 5 by ? My 10 year old daughter found 20" bikes too small and small ladies bike too big... this bike is a perfect fit. 24" but frame is lower so she can reach on/off. She won't outgrow any time soon!! She's Happy!! September 23, 2015
Rated 1 out of 5 by Bad experience The product arrived with a defective Right Crank chain ring. I have attached a picture below. Now my daughter cannot enjoy it .. summer is fast coming to an end. Dick's customer service has been good and have said they are working on this. Will update once I get more good news. For now it is lying in the garage. August 25, 2015
