Rated 4.2 out of 5 by 5 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Super tight pattern I purchased this tube for my Benelli M1 Super 90. I also bought the Winchester XR ammo, 3 inch #5 shot. I got it Friday and shot 20, 30 and 40 yards. The first shot at 20 knock the target board down. There was no way to count, because there was a hole bigger than a rifled slug through the turkey target's head. At 30 yards, still had almost 50 holes in the vitals and at 40 yards there were over 10 pellets in the head alone and a total of over 40 in vitals. Next day, my son killed his first turkey with the set up. I really recommend this for 50 bucks, it is great insurance in case one skirts the edge at 50 or 60 yards, I really believe I could kill one. One word of caution, with the load and choke, the recoil taps you pretty good, more than a .30-06. My son did not notice, however, as I think he was pretty excited about the gobbler flopping around. Rated 5 out of 5 by 870 super mag 12 gauge I just test pattern this choke with the Winchester ammo in number 5 and 6 shot wow is all I got to say. I had good kill shots with both 5 and 6 shot but I'm going with 6 because I like the pattern a little better I shot out to 70 yards with this combo but the effective kill rang is 60 all if you have a Remington 12 gauge buy is choke and these shells and you won't be disappointed at all April 16, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by This really works! I'm just getting into turkey hunting and I was a little suspicious of the claims I read about this product online. So, I tried my Remington 870 express magnum with the factory choke and then compared it to the results with this choke. It was astonishing! The factory choke showed wide dispersion that sometimes wasn't even a circular pattern. The Carlson Long Beard choke was a tight circle and gave you results that may decapitate a bird at 40 yards. My brother in law was with me and he ordered after trying it on his gun. I have no excuses for missing a big tom! I used Winchester Long Beard XR 3" shells with #5 shot. He used Winchester Nitro Turkey. Both loads had excellent tight patterns at 40 yards. March 10, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Not as advertised I purchased this choke tube for my Mossberg 835. The exit diameter of this choke for the overbored barrel is .683. Carlson's advertises 182 pellets in a 10" circle at 40 yards with #6 Winchester LongbeardXR. I had been using the #5 at the time and was getting right around 100 pellets in a 10" circle but the TruGlo StrutStopper Xtreme with an exit diameter of .670 was consistently getting 130+ pellets in 10". The Longbeard choke could in my opinion, be much tighter for the 835. I sent mine back and exchanged it for the tightest choke Carlson's makes which is .675 and its still not as effective as the TruGlo which is half the price. I can't recommend this for the 835, not with turkey shot but it may work well with something larger, maybe a goose load. February 27, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Tight patterns This choke is extreme. Tight patterns from 40yds every shot. When combined with long beard Shotgun shells it is a deadly combination. I use 3.5" with #5 shot and consistently have 8 to 14 pellets in the kill zone April 28, 2015
