Rated 5 out of 5áby Flairsr Nice pack Perfect for mid to heavy pack loads. Very comfortable and sit well on the back. Love this pack. September 12, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5áby shan Not for small frames I am 5'2", and have a 15 inch torso and this pack missed the mark by easily 3 inches. It's fully adjustable for medium to large framed people, but I can't get the straps short enough for me. If I put the waist belt on my waist, there is a 3 inch gap between the upper straps and my shoulders. If I pull the pack down to fit my shoulders, the waist belt is around my glutes! No bueno :( August 29, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5áby MC Good Pack For The Price Let's be honest, no one is buying this with the intention of replacing a +$300 Gregory pack. However, it has some good features and is a big improvement over the Wally World pack you've been thinking about. This is a little long but hopefully helpful. For those that don't want to read, I like it and I'd buy it again, just don't expect the super fancy extras. Pros: 1) The torso adjustment as great allows this back to fit a young kid that's just starting out or a rather large framed man. (I'm 5"11", 215lbs and the pack adjustments are roughly in the middle of the adjustment length). 2) The adjustment straps are LONG and give you tons of options 3) Large area for sleeping bag (zipper on the area seems to be good quality) 4) Compression straps do a fairly good job of securing the load and have enough length to allow extra goodies to be lashed to the pack. 5) Waist belt has a strip of webbing that lets you clip on a GPS, cell phone or other device in a convenient spot. 6) Hydration bladder compatible 7) 70L gives you plenty of room Cons: 1) The load lifters have an odd design, they work OK but could be a lot better. they also have a tendency to rub again the shoulder straps making a soft squeaking noise in you ear. (I plan to sew on some microfiber cloth to be a permanent fix but it could be left alone). 2) Not a lot of organizational pouches, I like to be able to organize my pack instead of having a couple of large pouches to throw everything in (pro to this is that less fabric cuts down on weight). 3) Because the torso adjustment is so adjustable I have had it slide around a little. I would recommend adding a way to lock the adjustment straps once they are set. 4) I feel like another compression strap could be used halfway up the main compartment to help secure the load a little better. 5) Water bottle pouches need some extra space at the bottom. They work great for small bottles but I always feel like my large bottle is going to slip out on the trail. 6) Does not come with a rain cover July 8, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5áby willp90 Great backpack which fit the bill I spent 2 weeks hauling this thing around Europe with roughly 30+ pounds packed in it at any time and it was very nearly at full volume capacity. The strap system helps distribute the weight well, and after fiddling with the straps for a while, you can even tune where it rides on your back. The volume you can fit in this actually lead me to over pack for the trip, but that's my own fault. So far I'm very happy with the build quality and features. I do wish there were an easier way to get to things in the main compartment, as you can only access from the top and the bottom, and this can require unpacking a lot of stuff to get to something. I took one star off for that. July 7, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5áby packman Great pack for the money Packed for Europe; had to carry extra clothing for others so it really wasn't big enough even with tent slung underneath. If you need an occasional pack or a one use pack buy it! It is extremely comfortable, well balanced and carries Kelty Lifetime Guarantee. This is a Dick's exclusive so don't try to price shop it because with points you will not find a better deal for a quality pack June 30, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5áby Debbie63 this product seems pretty good to me. this is the first time i've bought a backpack, therefore, i'm not really sure what is expected of a great backpack as i haven't been able to use it yet. i'm finding i need a smaller mummy bag to fit inside the sleeping bag compartment, so for now, it has to be tied to the outside with the bottom straps. i was wanting a bag with more than two pockets in the section that holds the water bag. that's what i was told it was used for by a fellow hiker. i was unable to tell if your backpack had pockets because there were no pictures of the inside view of this outer compartment. also, i need someone to fit the bag to my torso. the person who helped me has the bottom padded section adjusted to fit on my hips. i had it around my waste, but the shoulder straps weren't able to snugly fit onto my shoulders at all. there was a big gap. hence, the PerfectFit torso suspension system didn't work for me. maybe, instructions could be added to your site on how to put your bag on. i do like your bag, though. Rated 5 out of 5áby zaxrex One of the best packs for the price right now. This is a $100 pack that can run with $200-250 packs. The pack itself is quality made and extremely comfortable with a wide range of torso adjustment. I recently started the season with a 43 mile section hike of the AT, and this pack didn't cause any discomfort in the slightest. Seriously, I don't think I've ever had a pack that didn't take 1 or 2 days to break in and this one felt great right out of the gate. My only gripe is that this pack is very loud, especially when navigating rocky terrain. It moves about and makes all sorts of noise. Pros: Quality build Huge range of torso adjustment Comfortable, particularly when carrying >40 lbs PRICE! Cons: LOUD! Bit heavy, though I am no ultralighter May 31, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby Erasure999 So far, so good! I bought this pack for my trip to do the John Muir Trail in June. I've been practicing with this pack the past couple of months, fully loaded at around 40lbs full of needed gear. So far it seems sturdy enough to handle everything I have packed in there and it is seems very durable. My friend who picked up an Osprey Aether 70L said it was just as light if not lighter than her pack. It's able to hold a 3L hydration bladder in the provided internal pouch, which does have clips for you to hang it. It's not too noticeable at first, but there are small openings on the each side of the lid area where you can feed your bladder's tube through. The shoulder pads are very padded along with the hip belt. There are only 3 things I wish were better: - I wish the pack was just a little wider. This pack is more on the narrow side, so I've been unable to lay my Bear Vault bear canister sideways. With it being narrow and tall, if you have the bag loaded to capacity, the top of the pack will extend above your head for an average height person (I'm 5'10"), so when doing some test hikes I had to duck a few times so that the top of the pack wouldn't catch any branches. - The sleep bag compartment is a little small due to the pack being a narrow; however with a little effort you can force it in their or use a compression sack to decrease the size of your sleeping bag. - The side pockets are a little on the short side. So if you plan on using a tall Smart Water bottle you'll have to use of the compression straps on the side to hold it in place to keep it from falling out. For the price on this pack, you really cannot complain about anything. I picked this up on sale for $99 online. May 25, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby BoyScout523 Perfect for Boy Scouts I bought this for my 12 year old son who uses it for his Boy Scout weekend trips. Perfect storage size for his sleeping bag, compressible pillow, mess kit and extra clothes. He straps his sleeping pad on the side and he is ready to go. He said it is very comfortable to carry. He also really likes the front strap pockets because they are perfect for his flashlight so when they get to camp and its dark out, he doesn't have to go through his entire pack looking for it. Great backpack! May 5, 2016
