Customer Reviews:

Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 4 reviewers.
Rated 3 out of 5 by NICE ROD, BUT ..... For the price this is a nice value. Action is great, nice and light, and the grips are perfect size for a boat rod. I gave this rod its first workout on a porgy trip. I caught about 80 porgies all between 9" and 14" inches and most of them shorts, plus a bunch of cocktail blues. Again great action and a fun rod. However after porgy number 40 or so, lol, I noticed the rod tip looked odd. I discovered that it had bent about 80 degrees. The tip top guide eyelet was not welded to the rest of the eyelet frame!! Why not spend five cents extra and put a better tiptop on it? I have never seen this happen in 60 years of fishing. Returning it would have been a pain and I liked the rod especially that it is a two piece which I need for the NYC subways lol. I bent it back, wrapped it with 50 pound braid and put a layer or two of epoxy over it. Now it handles bg blues and stripers too.I would have given it 5 stars otherwise. August 13, 2016

Rated 4 out of 5 by I like it a lot! My son & I tested out many surf fishing rods in this price range. We decided on this but in the 8' length because it was not too stiff at the tip and not too floppy - just right! The reel seat and big guides are perfect. The grips are cool too. It is a lot easier to handle and cast than my Penn Fierce, which is like a baseball bat. The only reason I give it 4 instead of 5 stars is that the rubber butt is so big, i had to modify my fishing cart's rod holders to fit it in there! (it has a big butt!) March 15, 2015
