Cap is not known for poor quality. However, Cap products is not providing quality control before this "EZ curl bar" left their manufacturing plant. The lock spinners were loose and sloppy. The threaded ends were razor sharp, required filing down and sandpapering edges to prevent finger cuts. This is not a quality bar, save another 10 bucks and purchase a better name brand curl bar.

I originally went to another store (which I shall not name) and purchased a very cheap bar. it came in 2 pieces with a very small pin that held it together. it was a horrible product!!! I returned it and walked over to Dick's Sporting Goods and quickly found this for almost the same price. Bought it and I love it! VERY STURDY, COMFORTABLE, HAS PLENTY OF ROOM FOR DIFFERENT SIZED WEIGHTS. It is a great product for the price!!!

Purchased via internet (not available in-store). Nice bar. However, it did not come with collars. ok. Purchased the 1 inch collars in-store. They did not fit the bar. Tried 2 different 1 inch collars, the did not fit the bar. [...]

Since I am a paraplegic, I dont use this bar for bicep work, instead I use it for the floor pull-over press (compund movement) which involves the triceps, chest and lats. I use chin-ups for my bicep work.
The screw on collars aren't appealing to me, but they do have rubber grommets on them as well as one for the bar itself, so the weight plates stay in place very well.
Good overrall 1 inch diameter bar.
