Rated 1 out of 5 by Luv2Fish Design flaw with the CPT200 Beware of this product as it has a major design flaw with the transducer itself. Raymarine uses very tiny cheap stainless steel screws to attach the actual transducer elements to the stainless steel mounting bracket. Problem is these screws are very, very susceptible to corrosion, and there is no real means to attach a zinc to help with the corrosion. I had mine in the water for 5 weeks and three of the screws lost enough of the very fine threads that they just fell out. Raymarine replaced my transducer telling me they fixed the original issue. However, after only 4 weeks in the water with the replacement transducer it failed EXACTLY the same way, SS screws falling out. Contacted Raymarine again and they told me the designer told them I should just glue the elements on ? nice one Raymarine. I am now being told they are redesigning the way the elements attach to the SS mounting bracket. Problem is they have been telling me this for 3 months now. And yesterday I received an email form Winston of Raymarine that it could be yet another 2 months or more. Yet they are still selling the faulty transducers with the CP200 sonar module. I paid over $600 for this boat anchor and they refuse to refund my money. Save your money and buy something other than Raymarine as you will get no support if whatever you buy fails. They do NOT stand behind their products! I also have the CPT100 on the same boat for over a year and have had no problem at all, it's made of plastic. September 16, 2015
