Rated 2 out of 5 by MCM Horrible Save your money and find another combo. Line tangles and knots all the time. The reel arm fell off after 10 or so uses. I have caught a few bass but feel lucky with this product. July 8, 2016
Rated 3 out of 5 by parugo meh...alright for testing the waters If you're not sure about fishing then this is an alright rod to start with. The 4 that I bought came pre-spooled with 6lb test line. The line twisted and tangled right from the get-go on 2 of the 4 rods. The third rod had no problem and I have yet to use the 4th. I had purchased online and they were all ready to go by the time I got there so I don't know if they shipped from the factory like that or if someone spooled them improperly in the store. My brother caught a small bass with ease and my friend got a bluegill. Pretty impressive rods. Would have been 5 stars if I didn't have to stop every other cast to untangle line. After snipping a good 1/4 off there were no issues. So it's a pretty good rod for getting your feet wet but may need to be re-spooled. Also, do research before you start fishing. This helped me a lot. July 4, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Coach These are nice little fishing gear for the kids - great presents. I ordered these to use for gifts. They are very nice for the price and if I needed to, I believe, I could catch a nice fish for dinner with them too. June 21, 2016

Rated 4 out of 5 by Cam Best Fishing pole under $20 It is the best fishing pole under $20. It is a very good pole just it can be not that smooth to throw. This is because the ling comes out easy and the bail can come down easily. So you will throw, it will flip down and break a line. June 6, 2016

Rated 3 out of 5 by bfreepro417 Not bad, but nothing special I purchased this in store after seeing the great low price. I like fishing mostly for bass but also sometimes river fishing for trout. It's not a bad spinning rod, just not really good either. After two days of use it's reeling in MUCH less smoothly than when I bought it, my third fishing trip with it was today and it's squeaking and really not reeling in very smooth.Bottom line, would be a pretty good starter combo for a new angler, and it catches fish , rod is great, reel is just ok, we'll see how long it lasts.
