Rated 1 out of 5 by Surffishme Very Soft , Flimsy Rod. Very disappointed. The weight rating up to 6 ounce is a joke . It could barely cast 3 ounce with cut bait in 2 hooks. I returned and got a 9" Okuma longitude casting. Way stiffer. Great rod for money. Only around 40 bucks! Big Red caught yesterday on the Okuma. Rod was bent almost in half and did not break. Rated 4 out of 5 by Jeremy86LGR 8-10 lb bluefish blitz bought this rod back in December and finally got some action on it. great for casting poppers and buck tails. I don't recommend this rod for big striped bass. local inlet has been hot off the rocks for bully bluefish running 8-10 lbs+. some blues had this pole bent in half nearly great fights!! for 40 bucks id buy another rod but just for artificial lures. i don't trust it trying to haul any 20-30 lb stripers but if so i'm sure its a long ride haha. Rated 4 out of 5 by Jeremy86LGR 40 bucks it was worth the buy needed a quick rod after x-mas to pair with my 2nd Shimano 12000D. no stores were open 26th and was itching to go out on LBI surf due to 70 degree weather in December. i enjoy how lightweight it is first day i was using 6 oz lead and clam no bites unfortunately. casts fairly well. last night ENE wind 25-30 gust got sandblasted mostly. rod looked like it was going to die and break in half trying to hold bottom ha ha. used 8 oz lead and bunker head couldn't get it out that far not enough umph or stiffness to really throw weight like that on this rod. will write another review when i catch something or see how it is casting plugs or metal. for 40 bucks its worth the small investment. i typically only buy cheap rods anyway.
