Rated 5 out of 5 by Rookie Campers I have never had water in my tent regardless of the type of tent used. Here's some Golden Rules of Camping 1.) Use a plastic vapor barrier (vb) under the tent to prevent moisture from the floor..if it rains tuck the plastic vb under the tent preventing rain from coming in between the floor and vb. 2.) Never touch the inside of a tent regardless if it's raining or isn't raining. 3.) Use blow up mattresses 4.) Make sure you pitch your tent on a slight elevation so the rain has positive drainage. 5.) If you're expecting torrential down pours either don't go or dig a trench around your tent to allow water to stay away. Perhaps mocking Boys Scouts in your younger years wasn't a good thing to do now was it! October 24, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by water resistant For all you folks on here griping about the tent not being "water proof" if you read the info section and the owners manual it says "water resistant". I was taught 50 years ago that you do not touch the fabric while it is raining or it will leak through and that has been true from the get go with a tent. I find this a very good quality tent and with a little spray on sealer the seams do not leak and I have never had water inside my tent after any rain or storm. October 5, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Perfect Tent with a lil work... Any camper knows NO tent is waterproof. Had a boyscout camping trip last wkd. I Pre-treated this entire HUGE tent at home in advance. While camping, this tent easily lasted a 2 hours of med to heavy downpour! September 23, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Hughe Tent, great for camping I did not imagine the tent will be that big, I though it would be a small size, my daughter used at her camp and she was able to get other team mates in and they all slept comfortably September 6, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Worst tent I've ever owned My family and I are avid campers, and chose this tent when the zipper on our old one went kaput after years of service. On our second camping trip in this tent, it rained and water literally poured from the seams. It was a huge, soggy, puddle-filled disaster. I have never seen such in my life, and I've weathered some serious, all-night-long, downpours. This really is a terrible tent. August 28, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by A ruined trip We are sleeping in the truck as I write this review. We went camping for the first time this weekend for my daughters end of the year brownie trip. After a light ran for two hours, the floor of the tent is soaked. Our sleeping bags are soaked. Talked about a ruined trip and a little girl who now thinks this is what camping is. I'm so angry. This tent will be retuned the minute we get home. Which will be tomorrow because our weekend has been ruined, who wants to camp like this? August 20, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY It is not waterproof at all. I had to get hotel room to save my family from catching cold. August 16, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Buyer beware: Can't handle a 1 hour rainshower! Brand new tent, first time camping with it, we're currently sleeping in a wet tent b/c of a short rainshower. More rain expected tonight... we just covered it with tarps in the hopes of making it through the night with more rain on the way. August 16, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great Tent I used this tent for 4 nights and it rained for 3 of them. We did not get wet at all. It kept the water out and we were even able to leave the door screen open so we got a little air movement. It's probably more of a 6 person tent, not 8. We had 4 large men and we had plenty of room. It's easy to set up, but impossible to set up by yourself. Really happy I purchased this tent. For the price, it's worth it. August 15, 2016
Rated 1 out of 5 by Do not buy!!! Currently inside this tent and it's raining. The water is just pouring inside the tent from not only the seams but through the tent fabric as well. Not water proof at all. Thank God we brought a spare tent we used last year. As soon as this storm is over it's coming down. August 10, 2016
