Rated 5 out of 5áby tt90 Great Kayak for fishing and paddling Picked this kayak up in early and June and I have loved it. Had a hard time deciding between this one and the old towne, but I am so glad I went with this one. It has a spot molded in the back to keep a crate in place. I redid the bungee in the back so it didn't criss cross the cargo hold and I just use carabiners to keep my crate locked down in case something bad happens. Before you buy a $300 kayak as your first one wait until you have the money for this one. It has a very comfortable seat, comes with an anchor trolley already installed, scotty rod holder, and an anchor. October 4, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby KayakGal I LOVE my kayak My husband, college-aged daughter and I all decided we wanted to start kayaking. We each got different kayaks for different reasons. After researching and reading for weeks I finally decided on the Perception Hook Angler 105. I thought it was a little more than I wanted to spend, but I am SO glad I got this. One main factor for me was the large cargo hold in back. (We plugged the holes in the back cargo space by jamming closed cell foam in them, and everything stays dry.) I can easily pack a large dry-bag, med-sized soft cooler and still have a little room. It also has a little bigger cockpit so I can bring our 15 pound mini-Ausie. He frequently lays on top out front, but occasionally sits in the cockpit with me and there is plenty of room. The other really nice feature is the extra space behind the seat. You can put a lot of stuff, back there like water bottles, dry box and fishing tackle. It is very comfortable, I can sit in this kayak for hours and not get stiff. I think because it is large enough to shift and adjust your position. It tracks well and is very stable, which is another one of the main reasons I got it. We've been down streams, in lakes and in mildly choppy waters in the lower Potomac, with absolutely no problems. I highly recommend this kayak. September 23, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby Dreamie Awesome kayak I love mine and is very stable. Had it in some pretty rough water on Lake Huron off Drummond Island and it handled great! August 5, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby OHOutdoors Great kayak I had never been in a kayak before. I was impressed with the stability of this boat. Paddles and steers very well. I like the tank well in the back. I am able to access my gear from the seat. The Scotty rod holder and the anchor are nice extras that come with it. My only concern is the boat has two molded in rod holders that are only about 5 or 6 inches deep. See my You Tube video on this kayak. I cover everything. July 24, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby cging22 Best yak! Great boat, I'm a 5'6" woman, no problem maneuvering this kayak around. Easy to fish from with a lot of storage. July 16, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby Scooter1144 Very Happy First of all I rarely write reviews, but I was so pleased with this product I had to. I am 6'3" and weigh 295, the kayak had no issues with my size. It is very stable, maneuvered well, and is very comfortable. I use it for metal detecting so the rear cargo area came in handy. For the money you can not go wrong. July 9, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby Berk Nice Upgraded my cheapo sit in I purchased years back. 70/30 Fishing/recreation. I thought about a sit on but didn't like the idea of always getting wet and the added weight. Came across this one at Dick's ($449) and absolutely love it. The open back storage is a fantastic idea and extremely useful. Probably the best feature of the kayak. Seat is ok, tracks well and very stable. Very open cockpit so its easy to get in and out. Anchor trolley, anchor and rod holder are great if you like to fish. I made a trolley cart with PVC and cheap tires to move it around. It fits up through the scupper holes and was well worth the money/effort, $25 and may be an hour. I also installed a battery operated bilge pump for when I'm out in the saltwater just in case I get swamped, $50. Plus I added a few other "accessories". I made the mistake of watching You Tube DIY projects for kayaks...lol July 5, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby Dillon READ ME I'll get straight into why this will be one of the more important reviews this kayak receives. I am 6'6", fluctuate between 250-260 lbs depending on my diet, and wear size 15 shoes. **This kayak is great** I was a little apprehensive with even getting a sit-in kayak, but I wondered how I would feel out on the water after reading some of the other reviews. Long story short, it's very comfortable. I paddled over three miles today. It being the weekend for the 4th, there's plenty of boats out on the water today. The description says "perfect for calm waters," well, it does very well in choppy waters when paddling at a high rate. One of the reasons why I wanted a kayak was so I could have something to sleep on out on the water, as strange as that may sound to some... I was able to comfortable fit my torso in the kayak, use the seat as a pillow, and kick my feet on top of it. The padding on the sides keep in from being an uncomfortable experience. The bit of trunk space behind the adjustable seat is great. I kept my flip-flops and water container on the back. The little spot on the front was perfect for keeping my phone and keys. Overall, this is proving to be an extremely comfortable and capable kayak. I'm very pleased with it. From paddling to napping, it's a great fit for someone my size. July 2, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby jbp Pretty happy with the purchase. I bought the stripped down version of this kayak known as the Perception Sound 10.5 at one of dicks national competitors for $381 on sale. I opted to install a $20 Scotty rod holder myself and decided I would try the boat out before I installed an anchor system. After using the boat a little I decided the anchor system would be cumbersome and probably not needed for my usage. The boat tracks and steers well and the seat is comfortable for my 260# frame. The boat is stable on still waters and I am interested to see how it does in rapids. Overall a great kayak that I have recommended to all my friends. June 6, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5áby fgtnmn Love it This is a great entry level fishing kayak, very stable, easy to get in and out of, lot of room in the cockpit area and love the open trunk space in the back. Got it on sale at dicks overall I have to say that this is a great boat for the money, good features and comfort without breaking the bank. June 5, 2016
