Comments about Shakespeare Shakespeare Ugly Stik Lite Graphite Rod:
What can I say? Shakespeare has something going for their Ugly Sticks. What, they first came out some 30 years ago? This rod has to be doing something right. Shakespeare stuck to the “Don’t fix what isn’t broken” motto. Look at all the other brands and their series of rods that come and go. The ugly stick has been around for 30 years now and is virtually unchanged.
I bought my first Ugly Stick 20 years ago. It was strong, and durable. The only problem I ever had was the tip eyelet came off (a little superglue fixed that).
I bought an Ugly Stick Lite and love it. It’s a little lighter in weight, and is a littler more sensitive due to the graphite extending to the last eyelet before the tip of the rod instead of only to the second to last eyelet on the traditional Ugly Sticks.
If you are looking for a rod for any kind of fishing, I would recommend this rod in a heartbeat. In my opinion, you can’t find a better rod for the price. You can buy 3 or 4 of these for the price of one Fenwick or St. Croix rods, and I bet they will last you just as long if not longer! Get one, you wont be disappointed.
