I bought these clubs yesterday and went straight to the driving range. Instantly I noticed a difference in my swing. My ball was going straighter and longer. Even if I messed up, it still went straight. I bought the graphite clubs though. But its all the same. I would buy these again if I needed to! I will review again after my first round.

I had been using a set of Big Bertha Irons from the mid-90's. I used to play quite a bit of golf, but then didn't have the time. I finally started getting back into it last year and this year decided to upgrade my clubs. I looked at Nike Ignite and Slingshot, the Big Bertha 2008 and '07, Taylor Made's, and was at the store for almost 4 hours trying everything. Once I swung with these clubs, I wanted them. They have a large sweet spot and combined with the vibration dampening insert it feels perfect when you hit a good shot. Even on my bad hits the ball still went straight, just not as far or as high. If you consistently hit the ball on the heel or toe, you need to take a lesson, no club can "fix" your swing. The thing I liked best about this club is that I hit the ball higher than the other clubs I tried, but the ball went just as far. I also am a fan of the 4-GW set-up, because I prefer to use a 5-wood for those long fairway shots, and I am falling in love with the GW. For a guy that never practices the chipping, all I do is choke up a bit on the GW and take an easy swing and I am very accurate from 100 yards in. My only complaints I have would be that the grips feel kind of cheap and the metal on the sole of the club seems to gather scratches from pebbles easier than my other clubs. For $350 you should at least try swinging these as they compare to irons twice as much.

When setting out this year to fully advance my game, I needed to update my 5 yr old irons. Now that I've spent more time playing, these irons have allowed me to consistantly control my swing. Very soft feel when striking. Can't say enough about em'!!

These irons are the best I have ever hit. I have tried much more expensive irons from the big names and they are no better. Don't listen to those 2 negative reviews, they are probably the same guy. Everyone who I have let hit my clubs loves the way they feel, from 20+ handicappers to scratch golfers. The 2 neg. reviewers say they are 12 and 7 handicap, don't believe that for a second. If they were, they would have a decent swing and appreciate the great feel of these clubs. Off-center hits are very forgiving and you don't lose much distance at all. Do yourself a favor, pay no attention to the 2 negative reviews from Florida and AT LEAST try these clubs. You will not regret it!

I tried these out for a day after reading good reviews on them but I was not impressed. Very poor feel and you can buy much better clubs that will help your game than these. I have played many irons over the years and these rank up with some of the worst. It will drastically reduce your distance on any mishit.

Let me start off by saying "Nick from Rossland" is NOT a pro. Please pay absolutely no attention to his horrible rating. If he was actually a pro, he would know, like others have said, that a shank comes from a bad swing. I by no means have a great swing, but I hit these clubs so great. They are very forgiving and accurate. I was playing with an older set of no-name irons and increased my distance by about 10 yards with these. Not to mention the fact that they are just so much easier to hit and have a great feel to them. They feel and look very durable. Not too many people know this, but Titleist actually makes Cobra so you know they are built strong and will last as long as you take care of them. My local Dick's has the golf simulator screen to hit at and I put these up against the Cobra S9s, Taylormade RAC OS 2, Nike Ignites, and Callaway X-18s. The FPs, RACs, and X-18s were all just about the same on distance, although I felt I averaged a tad further with the FPs. These irons felt better than all the other ones and were the most consistent/accurate I hit. All these pros, plus the fact they are the cheapest of the bunch added up to a no-brainer for me. Try em out. You will love them as much as I do.

I have Cobra with Nippon Stiff Shafts at a 2 Flat. Great clubs... Thick top line inspires confidence at address. Good distance and foregiveness on mishits without the huge clubhead like others. Ball stays online with a mishit/crosswind better than others. For the price, the best irons on the market.

Pay no attention the the "7 handicap"...shanks come from the swing, not the club.

After not playing much the past 5 or so years, I have recently started playing regularly again. My old set was Tommy Armour 855's (the originals) which I really like, but are not very forgiving. These FP's have made it fun to golf again, they are really really easy to swing. I'd rather have less offset, but that's what you're gonna get in a game improvment iron like this.

I'm very happy with my purchase, but I can see myself wanting more of a players iron after I get more time on these. However, I'd probably quit playing if I didn't have a set that was as easy to hit as the FP's!

before owning this set of irons i had the nike nds irons with graphite shafts. those irons to me were more challenging to hit than the king cobra fp. the fp irons have a much more solid feel and added more yardage to my game. all in all i absolutely love these irons and would definitely recommend picking up a set. All in all for the price and the quality you get out of it, it cant be beat.

Great feel, makes any of the irons around this price or more, look like junk. Perfectly straight every time, no reason to even think about not buying them. Have used them for almost a year and play with them nearly every day at the course. A+

These are amazing irons. Great feel, response, control, and workability. I am able to hit a cut or draw depending on the shot whenever I need to with these clubs. They feel great when hit in the sweet spot, and off center hits go almost as far as good hits with no sidespin. Great irons, great price.

*These clubs do not shank, and if you're shanking the ball with them every time, then you have a bad swing.

this club shanks the ball everytime you hit it and I mean every time. I play in tournaments and for fun and this club will not help you get air or any spin. It is a cheap set and the price shows it. I recomend not getting this set.

By Andrew R from Tunkhannock,PA on 3/23/2007
Pros:
Comfortable

I bought these irons at Dick's a month ago and today was the first time I got to use them. They are honestly the best irons I've ever hit. I am a 12 handicapper, and these irons are perfect for me. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a set of irons that are forgiving and playable. You can't beat them for the price.
