I grew up fishing Salmon and Steelhead on the South Santiam River and spent over 25 years fishing the Spring Chinook and Summer Steelhead runs that have made the South Santiam an angling favorite. I learned the fishery very well both from both the bank and from the boat. The last 10 years I spent refining my boaters skills and venturing out learing new waters and new techinques. I am one of the hardest working guides you will find when it comes to persistance and preperation. I strongly believe fishing isn't just luck, but rather that preparation and opporutnity by being persistant are the factors that land you fish. I'm always researching new techniques and gear for improved results. Come jump in and enjoy a fun day of fishing.

I started my professional fishing career in 1976 and have spent time on the water in Oregon, Idaho and Alaska. I have been featured in many outdoor magazines and named one of the top 25 guides from California to Alaska. I have been the speaker for many local TV, radio shows and seminars on topics relating to various techniques for salmon, steelhead and sturgeon fishing. In 2001 I co-founded a successful fly-in camp on the Nushagak which runs in June and July. The rest of my time is spent in Oregon fishing from the Portland area to the North Coast. Fishing is more than a sport to me. It is watching the faces of my customers when they feel the first tug on their line. It is the joy they experience when they land their first (or fiftieth) salmon. My goal is to give my customers a trip that they will always remember.

Hi, my name is John Koenig, owner of John's Guide Service. I am 44 years old and no stranger to the Pacific Northwest. A fifth generation Washingtonian and second generation guide, I now reside in Rockport, Washington with my absolutely wonderfully beautiful wife Corrina and our 15 yr old daughter, Anjelika. Rockport, a town with a population of less than 500, sits in the foothills of the scenic and wild northern Cascade Mountains. I live within walking distance of both the Sauk River and now world famous Skagit River. My family would tell you that I have been somewhat of a fishing and hunting nut since I was a child. Well, why not? I owe most of what I know to another professional guide, my grandfather; who passed on to me the love of the outdoors and the patience and understanding it takes to be a knowledgeable fisherman and guide. I have been a full time fishing and hunting guide here in Washington for close to two decades now. In the past I spent 10 Summers guiding in Alaska's Bristol Bay watershed, and managing a fishing camp called "Alaska Kingfishers" which targets the largest run of King Salmon in Alaska. I am now concentrating all my Summer efforts back here at home. I will try and run groups out of Alaska Kingfishers when availability allows at the camp, and if not I can certainly help you in booking your next trip up there. Early Summers here in Washington will include guiding trips for Hatchery Kings on the Skagit River along with Sturgeon and summer-run Steelhead on our local rivers along with preparing for the upcoming hunting season. I am always scouting for both deer and bear sign, looking for the prime areas to hunt each fall. August and September are spent hunting the many berry fields of the North Cascades for bear and early archery deer, along with many Blue and Ruffed grouse to be had along the way. In October I go directly back into King Salmon mode both locally and on the coastal rivers of Washington, targeting not only Kings, but the other 4 species of Salmon on into December. From December - May I am guiding for the famous and much sought after Steelhead. I am also the inventor of the still popular "John's Jigs" and have been featured in many outdoor magazines and books as well as television shows like "Cabela's Outfitter Journal" and "Columbia Country". I am state and coast guard licensed, fully insured and first aid and CPR trained and certified. I operate under a USFS permit on the Skagit System while fishing and in the North Cascade Foothills while guiding hunts. With all this in mind, from beginner to experienced, from gear fisherman to fly fisherman, from bow hunter to rifle hunting, you can look forward to a very memorable and enjoyable day with John's Guide Service.

....I'm a third generation Fishing Guide and have been full time since 2006. I have been born and raised on the banks of the Sandy river and I have landed Steelhead at age 4 and Salmon at age 5. I have always been pursuing fishing as a source of income from age 10 on. I started fishing for pike minnows and was successful enough to make good income and buy 3 different Alumaweld boats from age 10-18. I always wanted to be a fishing guide, because of my life involvement with fishing and how my father ran his guide business. I stay up dated with the fisheries and the politics behind the fisheries by going to meetings with the ODFW, NSIA, CCA and all the smaller organizations. My father and I are well know for all the fishing seminars we put on per year. We normally do 6-12 with Dick's Sports and then another 6-12 with varies companies around the region. My Passion in fishing is having people come out and learn about the fishery, why this fishing works and how to help keep this fishery around for our future and of course to catch fish! I strive to work hard for all my Sponsors who help me out with fishing product and to make sure every client that fishes with me gets a new clean piece of equipment in there hands will fishing with me.

Kevin grew up fishing here in Oregon and quickly made a name for himself as one of the hardest working and most productive fisherman on the coast. He has developed his own egg cures and knows what it takes to get the bites in the constantly changing conditions of Oregon Rivers.
Learning to fish cured salmon eggs is the most productive method there is to catchquality salmon in big numbers.
Kevin designed and built his own 20' aluminum power boat that is perfectly designed for this type of fishery. No comfy seats and rod holders. You will be moving, standing and casting, and actively persuing fish. Seats are available, but you won't want to take a break from the action! This is a hands on, "in the game" fishery.
Kevin has fished the most productive rivers from the California borders to Canada and Alaska. He is well known up and down the coast for his fishing skills.
That is what a day of fishing with Kevin has in store. You won't be sitting in a seat, drinking coffee and eating snacks waiting for the guide to tell you a fish is already on your line.
You will be holding your own rod, feeling the bite, detting the hook, and FEELING THE POWER! Kevin enjoys teaching people how to fish, and making good fisherman better

John Garrison learned to fish before he could walk. He learned at Lake Arrowhead in Southern California where he grew up. He has fished from Mexico to Canada and east through the Rockies. Most of his concentrated fishing was in the Sierras.
John moved to Central Oregon in 1971 with his family. All free time was spent “testing” the waters of the high lakes, rivers and streams. In 1980 John began guiding as an assistant. In 1984 Garrison’s Guide Service was formed and quickly became the largest spin/fly fishing guide service in Central Oregon based in Sunriver.
Garrison’s Guide Service is not just about catching fish. It is about learning the intracacies of the area and the uniqueness of each fishery. The combined knowledge of the guides results in very successful experiences.
This year Garrison has a staff of 6 guides operating a fleet of 5 boats. Among his assistants are 4 school teachers and one school counselor who take advantage of their summers off to guide. Considering their occupations, Garrison’s assistant guides have excellent people skills, in addition to being knowledgeable anglers. From spin fishing and fly fishing looking for the elusive Brown, the fighting Brook, the award winning Rainbows, delicious/fighting Kokanee, crazy Bass – the all enjoy sharing the experience and knowledge with the guests. We also throw in a few large Bull and Lake Trout.
