This shoe has become my go to everyday shoe for knocking around or hilly neighborhood hiking. We have a lot of good trails near our house and the streets to get to them have a lot of hills and trees that provide shade and encourage wildlife. These shoes provide a stable and well cushioned platform for older feet with metal repairs and really make walking a lot less about thinking about how my feet feel. First hard effort in these was an 11 mile trail race in the Adirondacks. Weight is superb and grip was more than adequate through a mix of singletrack, mud, roots and rock slick with humidity. I 'd last run this course in a pair of VJ Sparks and these were better in nearly every regard. Race went great. The fit is just a bit long and I did kick the toe a few times- if purchasing again I 'm 50- 50 staying with my size or going down a half. Only other change I 'd make is a millimeter or two more of foam- barely more, but these did feel a little bit harsh at low 5/min downhill miles. That said, they ARE race shoes. Great job Merrell.

These are an awesome sneaker. I love a slip on shoe and these allow you to have a slip on style shoe but still feel nice and snug with their lacing system. The padding around the ankle and heel is SO soft and comfortable. It feels like a tempur- pedic pillow for your foot/ankle. These are great for a trail but also just for normal walks or going around town. My only recommendation for improvement would be that the end of the laces/string bounces around a bit while you are walking. I have just been tucking them back under the laces to fix this but would be nice if there was something on the shoe that could do this for me. Either way, awesome shoe!

I wanted a pair of lightweight hikers that would pack easily in a suitcase for travel. I went to Alaska and hiked on wet rocky trails and the shoes proved to be excellent. They were comfortable right out of the box. The waffle sole gripped wet slippery stones as well as any shoe I have ever used. I ’ m 6 ’ 1 ” /225lb wearing size 13. The toe has a nice boxy shape allowing more front freedom. I wore them all day and never felt the need to take them off as with heavier shoes. They are low cut so do not give ankle support as with higher cut heavier shoes but I found that the close fit helped me manage rocky trails without issue.

I just ordered my second pair of the Rubatos to replace the ones I ordered a year ago. I walk about 1- 4 miles a day and have worn these on about 66% of those walks. They provide plenty of cushioning and support. I can wear these for long periods of time without my lower back and feet hurting. Suggestions to make this the perfect shoe: a little bit better ventilation, a little more width in the toe box and maybe add 1mm to the lugs. The lack of availability in colors and sizes makes me think these are or will be discontinued:>{ I wish Merrell would make more zero drop shoes and sandals.

After running through two pairs of the original Long Sky shoe, my expectations were high for the 2nd version. Kudos to Merrell, LS2 meets and exceeds the performance of the original version. These shoes are light for the support you get underfoot, have excellent traction from Vibram, and I appreciate the added gaiter attachment points. I 'm about 200 miles into my current pair and so far no noticeable points of excessive wear+tear. If I had to be critical, I wish there was a little more padding in back for my achilles, but it has n't been a problem so far, just something I would change if I could. Great shoe, eager to see how many miles I can get out of them.

These shoes are incredible! They 're light so you 'll feel quick and agile in the trail and they also have great traction for grip on technical trails. The draining system on these shoes is great too, going through water and mud the Long Sky 2s drain out quickly so they stay light through your run. I raced a trail marathon with 9000 feet of gain, some technical ridge running, and some mud and slop in it and these shoes held up well the whole way!

I brought the Long Sky 2 as one of my shoes for a 120 hour ultra. The race involved 150 miles and 50, 000 feet of vert. The Long Sky's were the only shoe I needed for comfort, light weight, breathability, and trust. Trust was important with steep ascents and descents. The Long Sky's give me a sense of stability without sacrificing manuverability in extreme environments. This is quite easily the best trail shoe I 've ever worn.

I have worn these on a few light hikes on gravel with my dogs, two days in downtown chicago, 6 miles each, and i now understand what `` energy return '' means. These shoes give you some extra `` spring '' in the ball mound of your foot and feel really lightweight. I ’ ve had 6 of the 7 generations of TGs, as well as a few of the Vapor Gloves. If you ’ ve never had a minimalist shoe, they are fantastic, but definitely go with Trail before Vapor. This is also good advice to anyone running on harsh trails or loose rocks. These TGs have a lot of absorption, considering the sole thickness. Also, they tell you that the shoes run large, but I would only size up if you have wide feet! If you have normal to narrow feet, I ’ d recommend sticking to size and knowing that they should feel a bit “ sock- like ” without generating any significant toe friction. I just started using them so I can not comment on the quality. I can say that I ’ ve used many categories of Merrell shoes and boots, and with the exception of one single pair of TGs( gen3, I believe), the build quality has been solid.

These are so comfortable. They feel like your best moccasin, but firmer for walking on cold cement in the winter/fall weather. I got these online last week and wore them on Saturday night. The black Merrill Mid Wrapt Barefoot Hiking Boot is great. I wear an 8 in most shoes, but I use orthotics because of my high instep arches, so I went one size larger and with my black Thorlo roll top socks they are very comfortable and fit perfect. I have arthritis in both knees so I needed a flat sole like a tennis shoe. These barefoot waterproof hiking boots are great and keep your feet warm. Overall, I ’ m very happy with this edition of the Trail Glove! I previously left a pretty scathing review for the Trail Glove 6, and I ’ m so happy with the improvements for the 7. The barefoot feel is back with a grippy tread, and the upper leaves room for toe splay. The tread coming up over the big toe took a little breaking in, but after a few runs, it felt fine and is kind of nice to have that toe protection on trail. The TG 7 is my go- to shoe now after stock piling the Trail Glove 4 model for a few years. Yay! Great job. Love the color as well.

And my foot is a bit narrow, especially in the heel region. The Sirens offer a good fit profile for me. No slop in the shoe but no pinching either. These are very well- made. I ordered the Merrell for the first time in years. I usually need a wide shoe but occasionally can get by with ordering a 1/2 size up in a regular width. The trouble is knowing whether I was going to be an 8. 5 or a 9 in the Merrell shoe. This 9 Merrell still fits a bit too snug for me. I also got the same pair in black in the 9 Wide and it turns out the Wide shoe will become my everyday shoe and this one will be pulled out when I need a lighter color. Very comfortable once you find the right size for yourself.
