I picked this up for the local little league that needed catchers gear for their single A team. As someone who caught before I 'm familiar with the gear and what good quality gear looks like. This set is so much nicer than what I had when I was in little league. I really like the velcro connected straps as they provide solid yet easy to attach and detach. The shin guards are sturdy and look to provide solid protection. The chest protector is also nice and thick and I like the added padding for the throwing shoulder as that's something Ive seen missed in a lot of sets. Finally, the helmet is solid as is the face mask but the face mask provides very good visibility which is essential. All in all, I 'm happy with this as is the team.

The Marucci Catcher's Select Kit is very very well made kit. The helmet and face guard are solid. The chest protector attaches via buckles, and has a shoulder pad that can be mounted for right or left- handed players with velcro. The shin guards are nice pieces too, however they attach via velcro; that makes them very quick to take on and off versus buckles, but we 'll see how long the velcro holds up.

She is about 4 foot 1 so not a big girl, the gear is a bit big for her but I was able to tighten it up to fit good which she will have plenty of room to grow into it more an as she gets older! My son is an avid Catcher. We never had the Marucci brand Catcher ’s gear before, but my son anbso absolutely loves it! He LOVES the helmet. He says the helmet is super comfortable and easy to get on and off quickly. He is 13 years old 5 ’ 8 and 190lbs and this Adult Size fits him well. He feels well protected wearing this gear and that makes me( his mother) feel at ease. He ’s playing with 16 year olds that throw a mean fast ball and if for some reason the ball would get away from him I feel confident that he ’ d be protected. The gear has clasps that are easy to clip into place for a fast transition from batting back to catching. He catches the majority if not all of the game and the gear is comfortable and he can move fast in it. He is extremely happy with Marucci Catchers Gear. One last plus is that it looks nice too! The Marucci Intermediate Catchers set( M- CG1) is well made and has the look and feel of a quality long lasting gear. I have two travel players, first is a 12 yrs old who is 5 ’ 4 ”@ 100lbs and this set fits him like a glove. This model has a hockey style helmet with great visibility has adjustable fitting and comes off quite easily. The chest gear has great coverage and protection also adjustable for growth. Knee pads and shin guards are comfortable and provide great cushion and flexibility in all catching positions. My second player is 5 ’ 10 ”@ 130lbs, and although it fits it ’s at the higher end. However, it is still very usable and comfy as he uses primarily for bullpen work. Overall both players give the set a big thumbs up for comfort, flexibility and protection. Great for players at all levels.

This catcher ’s set is our favorite one yet. The gear is comfortable and easy to get on and off…which is most appreciated. Movement is good and protection is strong. There are four connectors for each leg pad. The chest protector has shoulder protection, good padding, and goes on and off quickly. While the padding is good, quick mobility is not impeded at all. The helmet meets regulation and has the back section separated which allows for easy in and off as well. Good protection here as well and still affords strong visibility. A great set!

This is a solid catchers set. The pieces are high quality and look like they will hold up through many games. The helmet is well made and easy to pull on. The chest protector is sturdy yet flexible. The knee pads actually have a strong clasp that looks like it will stay put when adjusted correctly. It is truly made for intermediate ages, my guess is 13- 17. Pic is on a good size 9 year old and it is much too big. Quality is great, but we will have to wait a few years to actually use it.

My son had the AllStar Axis 7( adult) system for a couple of years and loved it. We chose this set to replace the Axis because I liked the things we read about the helmet. Turns out the my son likes this whole set better. The legs were the hardest part to get used to because they are so different; but, after his first game he said they were awesome and he is glad we got this set. He takes some pretty hard hits in varsity baseball and said this feels like it is protecting him well. Ease of movement is good, shock absorption( foul balls) in the helmet feels better he said, the chest protector seems well built and is easy to put on. As far as durability we haven ’ t had it long enough to say one way or the other.

Bought this for my 13 year- old son about a month ago. My son really loves this equipment because it offers him excellent protection, it is lightweight and it looks great. The hockey style mask is very comfortable and fits great plus it offers him great visibility. The shinguards have a gel pad that protects the knees and the chest protector is thick but very lightweight. I highly recommend this product for all ages

It is a well built quality mitt. Sharp looking and quality materials. However, is super stiff. I had it steamed, and I am working it for a week, and it is still not broken in. Do not buy it for a kid younger than 13 years old. It is on the big and heavy side. But for a bigger kid, it is a great mitt!
