I have a couple of these and I take one on all my adventures. I also volunteer with search and rescue and we are required to carry one because of the multitude of different uses. I suppose it's original intended use is as a sleep pad. I have used it alone like that several times and it works as expected if you sleep on it alone. Now let's get into a few other common uses that I 've found for it. Lay it out to kneel down in snow and dig through your bag and keep your knees off the cold ground, for a seat while taking g a snack break on the trail, for an extra insulating layer under an inflatable sleep pad, to protect your inflatable from punctures, i cut one up to add some extra padding on a pack once, i also cut pieces to make a padded belt for a home made sled once, I 've also cut up an old one to make small sit pads. They are cheap and very useful not to mention super light weight. Just get one and throw it on your pack. You wo n't regret it.

[ I 've purchased various different Zoic liners, and compared them also with the ones that came with my Fox, Endura, and Pearl Izumi mountain biking shorts. While I found the least expensive Zoic Essential liner to be lacking( in flexibility and comfort of the chamois pad), I have been very happy with Zoic's higher end liners. I have n't carefully contrasted the Premium, Ultra, and Carbon liners, but they are all much nicer than the Essential. I also prefer them to the basic liners from Pearl Izumi( worst), Endura( tight around my thighs at their bottom), and Fox( most comfortable basic non - Zoic liners). I 've purchased Zoic liners for my son, and they work for him as well. He wears a small, and I wear a large; Zoic's size chart seems accurate enough, so I did n't dare to try a medium, even though that's my size in some other brands; so in doubt, size up.

I love riding everywhere I can in my home state, Minnesota, and I have traveled to four other states to ride as well. With the above in mind, I figured why wait until I knocked my teeth out or broke my jaw to get a full - face helmet?! So, I dug in and did my research and settled on the Super DH MIPS Helmet. And, I am glad I did!... I just returned from a trip to Bentonville and had a nasty crash on a gap jump I missed. While the helmet did n't prevent me from shattering my collarbone( surgically repaired with 10 pins and a titanium plate), my melon was completely protected and unharmed from my OTB and trail bouncing. In fact, the helmet is no worse for the wear and ready for more action. Why did I chose the Super DH MIPS Helmet? 1) Tons of venting and a super comfy fit( Yes, your head will still get a bit warmer than having no face - guard. But, it's not as bad as many people say.). In fact, I wore it both climbing and descending, as well as on the features I road( I love skinnies). 2) Quick and easy removal of the face - guard( But, it defeats the purpose of having it... it's for unplanned accidents.). 3) Great visibility and glasses or goggles fit it perfectly( I wear slightly larger sunglasses, googles seem like overkill for my riding purposes). 4) DH rated and MIPS technology—Why go full - face if it is n't rated for the most extreme riding you may experience?! 5) Bell history and quality.

[ Helmet is overall good, but the chin bar is hard to remove and reinstall. It takes a lot of effort to remove the bar and reinstallation takes a lot of alignment and adjusting to get it done right.
