I will say these run a little big as there is some extra fabric in the back of the waist. I would size down 1 size as they are also stretchy. There is a button closure as well as a hook and zipper. I ’ ve actually paired it with a blazer and worn to work and I ’ ve also worn to my son ’s baseball game. The UPF fabric is perfect for the outdoors and the baseball field dust just wiped right off. I have a hard time finding nice golf pants that I can take from the turf to the office because I 'm petite and all I find are regular sizes, thus too long for me( even for the ones that advertise ankle length), but these are just a little short, enough to not pull at the ankle and fit just right!
