I saw this on sale at Golf Galaxy and picked it up. I figured I 'd use it as another putting tool when not using my 8' x 1' putting mat, raised ramp hole, etc... This is very stable, has a little gripping surface on the bottom, so it wo n't move on a livingroom carpet. The coolest thing about it is, the push- in rubber plug. Leave it flush with the plastic ramp, and the ball goes up the ramp and come back down to you. Push in the little plug, and with `` just the right touch ''... the ball will go up the ramp and stop right in the little hole where the plug is. The width is exactly the same as a real golf course hole.. 4¼ inches... and provides countless ways to practice putting!

First, let me address those who give this item a negative review because it is insanely hard to get the ball start in the micro target hole.... that ’s the entire point... the putt has to to perfectly online and the speed has to be perfect to do it. But ANY put that goes over the disk and up the ramp( and then obviously rolls back towards the golfer) is a “ made putt ”. So, even if it doesn ’ t go into the micro hole and stay there, doesn ’ t mean you missed the putt. In fact, you can plug the micro hole and opt not to even use it... it is there to add an extra challenge. Now with that out of the way, this device is great. It is very sturdy and folds up nicely making it very portable. When I go to a new course I can set it up on the green quickly, take a couple short putts to gauge the speed, fold it up, and move on( I know you could just use a hole on the putting green, but sometimes you ’ ll have to dodge other golfers, so with this I can just grab an open piece of green and practice, plus it rolls back to me, so it is quicker).

I have this ball return as well as the Puttout mat and gates. I 'm my opinion you need the gates to fully benefit from this device. The gates allow you to ensure the ball is coming straight out of the face as it tracks into the cup. The one improvement I would like to see in future versions of this device would be more pronounced guardrails on with sides of the cup as well as a backstop at the top of the ramp. These changes would allow me to hit putts that simulate much longer putts than the relatively short mat allow. The Puttout mat is the very best mat I have found. My Mat is 5 years old and it is as true as the first day I used it. I highly recommend this product as well as the mat and gates.

I was looking for a replacement for a putting mat I had for a couple years. My old one had a battery operated ball return that stopped working. No batteries needed for this mat and the ball return works great, all by gravity. My new putting mat from Perfect Practice has already helped me improve my putting. Two parallel solid lines help me keep the putter square to the target and there is a nice dashed line to follow straight into the hole. I especially like using the solid parallel lines on my follow through. It seems that my putting stroke was breaking down after I hit the putt by not staying on line. The lines help a lot. Also, the hole itself is slightly smaller than a regulation cup size, to help improve aim. The edges of the mat have a good looking raised edge that keeps the ball from rolling off the mat. This version was the smallest and it easily rolls up and fits into a nice bag, when not being used. I have n't put mine away since I bought it, but it is a nice feature. The larger models with nice wood features look great, but are too large for the space I have.

For those people whose mat had a slight fold bump in their mat; just lay a fairly heavy item on that area and it should relax and lay flat. It also helps to put on hard surface and not carpeting. The overwhelming reviews that I found were very positive. I purchased this mat this morning. The set up was simple, no wrinkles, lays flat and the ball rolls true. As other reviews state- the Slow Direction is way too slow. The Fast Direction is fairly realistic to most of the greens that I play. I am very satisfied with the purchase. I 've been sinking almost every putt today from 3 to 6 feet out. I hope that I putt this well tomorrow one the course!:)

I am using it on a shag carpet and it lays perfect every time. The roll is straight and I do not need extra gadgets to figure out what I am doing wrong. If you need the fancy lines to help you putt I would recommend you look at something else. It is not a high end product but it does what I want, it helps me groove my stroke and I get the same roll every time.
