[ The Thule Force 3 is the perfect addition to our Toyota 4Runner! The delivery was fast, and the installation was a breeze. The trickiest part for me was positioning the box just right — I prefer to have it centered on the roof, as we often access gear from both sides depending on the situation. The XL size is a great fit for an SUV. Due to the design of our crossbars, we did need to shift the box back a bit further than we initially wanted, which prevents the trunk from opening fully. However, this is entirely our choice, and I do n't fault Thule for this minor issue. We took the roof box on a skiing trip right away, and it held our 4 skis and poles with ease! It ’s been a game- changer for freeing up space inside the car. While the box does make a bit of noise once we hit 70mph, it's nothing that bothers us. Overall, I highly recommend the Thule Force 3 to anyone in need of extra storage. We 're thrilled to have it as part of our gear setup!

I bought this a while back for traveling, and have yet to use it. I have a Toyota Highlander and the rack system was perfect for this addition. I love the fact that it opens from both sides and I was able to install on my own.

I purchased the Thule Force 3 M to so that I could pack more stuff in my vehicle when travelling. It works great! It is easy to install. It attaches securely to my crossbars. It is convenient to load and unload because both sides open. It lock has a lock on it, which is easy to operate, and it provides security for all the stuff I pack in it. Overall, I am happy with my purchase.

We bought this so we had extra storage when we moved and we were able to pack quite a bit of things in it. If you 've never driven with a rooftop cargo box it does change the aerodynamics of your car/van. You also have to make sure you already have crossbars to install it on but other than that, it is super easy to set up. Overall we are very pleased with it.

I bought this item because we had to move due to my job and needed extra space in our car. Never owned one before so I was skeptical about the price, but it worked great. We traveled over 600 miles, we had rain and a lot of wind; it held pretty good and the items inside stayed dry.

I did a ton of research trying to figure out which rack to buy and after a significant amount of research I came to the conclusion the Thule Xsporter pro was my rack. I 've been eyeing getting a roofbox for a year now, checking for discounts around the holidays. Nearly purchased the Motion XT Alpine last year around Black Friday but decided to wait. I 'm glad I did! The Low Profile version of the Motion 3 XL seems to me like a perfect in- between of the tall version and the shorter Apline. The intent is to primarily use this on my wife's Hyundai Kona and my BMW 335i for when we road trip. Our family is expanding and we were already running out of room. Definitely recommend getting the Titan color, the pictures on the website do n't do it justice. It's more like a gunmetal finish that coincidentally matches the Kona's trim very well. Also it should theoretically heat up marginally less in the sun since black absorbs infrared more. I wanted to put up some detailed photos of overhangs and liftgate interference, since I 'm sure that's what others will be wondering about as well. The pictures show the roof box slid forward as far as possible with the current cross- bar positioning. I 'm sure I could shift the rear cross- bar forward in order to shift the whole box more, minimizing interference, but it likely would n't eliminate it. Overall very happy with the build quality, paint finish, and hinges. Why get a bigger car for more space when it's only utilized 1% of the year?!

I have a new 2024 Lexus GX550. I found the Motion 3 XL Low Titan. It was the best match for my needs and looks great. I had I color matched to the car. Now I can use all three rows of seats and take plenty of luggage with us. Love it!!!

I am beyond satisfied with the Motion 3 XL Low cargo box. Not only does this box look sleek and visually appealing on my car, it packs a punch for capacity. I was pleasantly surprised at how much I could store in the box with the `` Low '' version of the box. The first time I used it, we were headed on a trip with four adults, tons of baggage, and a grocery trip in my Mazda CX5. We were able to fit three large duffles in the box with room to spare. It was so nice to not have to play bag tetris and actually be able to see out of the rearview window for the road trip. I do think my favorite part about the box is how easy it was to set up. The PowerClick quick- mount system is amazing and the easiest thing I 've ever mounted on my car. You do n't need any tools at all- once the box is situated on the car, you simply just turn the four knobs to tighten the grips on the crossbars and you 're all set to drive. Last thing I was really stoked about was the lock and open mechanism on the box. I 've used boxes that are finicky and tough to open, but the Motion 3 XL Low was super easy and quick to open, close, and lock. Also, the box can open on both sides making it extra versatile. Overall, this box exceeded my expectations and gives us the extra cargo room we need for road trips, adventures, and everything in between.

Just received this rack in great condition. Only negative comment I would like to make is that the instructions were horrible. No verbiage at all, just pictures. jdw1958
Works great. Like most Thule products the instructions are at best vague. Plan on redoing it at least once. The biggest challenge is the integration with the Caprock. When you put a Caprock over the back you take off the cross bars. So now you have two crossbars with no known future to store or throw away( bleh). I would also note that another three inches in height would make the product much more versatile, as others have noted. All- in- all though a great product!

My partner and I recently bought two kayaks from Dick ’s and needed to transport them over 100 miles through several mountain passes on a windy day. On a whim, we bought this kit and we are so glad we did. In the parking lot of the Dick ’s, we were able to install the kit on the crossbars of her Subaru Outback within 30 minutes and did not need a single tool for assembly! I bought this to attach to my Nissan Juke( which has no roof rack of any type) so that I could transport my 10- foot, 50 pound kayak. It was very easy to setup. It took less than ten minutes. I transported my kayak on a seven- hour journey mainly on the highway going just under 70 mph and the kayak did n't move at all. When I got to my destination, it took less than five minutes to remove the inflatable roof rack. The rack did not seem to have deflated at all during the journey. I did add extra ratcheting straps to attach the front of the kayak to the front bumper and the back of the kayak to the back bumper for extra stability. I 'm very pleased that I was able to find this inexpensive solution for transporting my kayak. So much cheaper than purchasing a roof rack, and in some ways, the little bit of `` give '' in the inflatable rack might be an advantage over a hard metal rack.

[ As a fit kit, each model is design for a specific vehicle or set of vehicles. I purchased the Kit 1340 to fit my new 09 Legacy. The product does what it needs to and fits quite well.. a few unexpected gaps( since the rubber is formed specific to the roof) but nothing to worry about. I will warn anyone with the 1340 fit kit... It is designed for certain Subaru models and is highly specific because these models are vehicles that do not have framing around the windows( rather uncommon). Thule fit kits typically clamp right to the metal roof where the doors close. This kit, however, clamps to the plastic trim where the doors close( since there is no frame). Structurally a this is okay because plastic is reinforced to the vehicle frame, but I point this out because the clamping of the roof racks to the car will cause some indentation in this plastic trim where the metal plastic rests and is tightened. I noticed this only after a test fit, and have n't fully utilized the racks yet to know if it gets worse, but it's something to note if you really care about pristine appearance of this trim when you remove the racks. Otherwise, functions great and have confidence in knowing you are using a product specifically built for your car.

Love the roof rack, works great. However, there is the slightest negative bow in the bars( 3/16th), and after digging into it, others with the same set up said that it appears like the design is just ever so off for our car models. I am very pleased with my purchase. I added the basket with extension to my Xterra. The learning curve for instillation was steap to get it where I was happy. The challenge was the `` phases '' were in different bags and I had to use the count to locate each piece vs them being all in bag 1, 2 etc. When placing on the roof lining things up front to back took some time as well. These are minor tho and I could n't be more pleased. The Xterra already has a tough look but the basket adds the extra look and functionality I was hoping for. The construction is solid and should last for many years to come!

Thule recently updated from the 571 to the 572( I assume the older review here is of the 571 model). The correct hardware was included and I had no problem installing it myself into drywall and/or studs. Instructions were accurate, and the rope seemed to be long enough for most garages. The only issue I had is that I have 12 foot ceilings and a Subaru Outback, and the rope was just short enough that I had to add my own extension( not difficult at all). Also, if the winder was longer, I would n't have to step on my tire to get up there. Again, this is because I have extra tall ceilings. Future consideration is to attach the winder to my drill for faster raising and lowering. Overall, a great product to help with your garage storage! I show it off to neighbors.

Here is my install. It has worked great no issues over the 1+ years in PHX. However, as the others have stated, the instructions were lacking. Hopefully, Thule does not abandon these support items. This has given me a system that I can use without consuming valuable floor space.

ALBSURE
Despite the negative reviews, this item is easy to install and works very well for hoisting roof- top boxes, kayaks, and canoes. I recommend first fastening 3- 2 '' x6 '' x42 '' boards to the ceiling to simplify installation. This makes for a very sturdy installation, allows you to install parallel or perpendicular to the rafter direction, and eliminates the issue of rafter spacing. The center brackets accept 5/16 '' lag screws, and the pulley brackets accept 1/4 '' lag screws. I used 5/16 '' x 3- 1/2 '' lags to fasten the 2 '' x6 '' boards to the ceiling rafters and 2 '' long lag screws to fasten the brackets to the boards. The vertical weight rating of the lag screws exceeds the weight rating of the Multilift.

Even though I think the product is a good one, the instructions were really poor. I am a handy person and have put together bandsaws, etc. I found the instructions confusing and highly strange. I used the QR code, and it used only cartoons with no verbal instructions. I also used several YouTubes. I would highly recommend looking at improving this area of your product.

Our Ford Ranger is a 2020 model. The production date for the Kit was 2018, so the best fit on the our roof was slightly different than the diagram in the directions. This presented no problem that we 're aware of. We 've had the Wing Bar Evo with the kit out on the road for one trip so far, no problems were noticed. Overall, directions were easy to follow, and the product is sturdy and attractive, too.

The rubber feet do n't exactly conform to the roof line like I would expect them to. There are gaps between the rubber feet and the roof. Even so, I would recommend this because its the clamp that is most important and the metal clamp fits perfectly. It would be nice if the rubber feet did match exactly especially for the cost of this system.

I got the Evo 135 roof bars, and the feet and fit kit for my '17 Jetta. Installation was straightforward, though as other people noted the width numbers for the installation were a bit off. So far it seems solid. There is a bit more road noise with them on, but that is to be expected. The only problem so far is that when driving during heavy rain we had a significant amount of leakage through both of the back windows. The fit kit has a different bracket there and it seems to mess with the door seal more than the front. We 're about to take the first road trip with the bike rack and bike attached, so hopefully I 'll have good things to report after that. And hopefully it wo n't rain much.

Thule makes quality products, however a few big frustrations are:- A roof rack system( specifically the fit kit) did n't become available for my 2022 Honda Civic( one of the best selling cars in the US) until June 2022. I do n't understand why they would wait so long to make a new fit kit, especially when the new car models come out the year before. I was putting my bike in the trunk with the seats down for 9 months before the fit kit finally became available. Not a great setup with a bad back and having to bend over in awkward positions.- They redesigned the shape the rubber foot pads, where they connect to the door clamps. The rubber has squared off edges instead of rounded. This tiny change meant that I had to buy a new set of door clamps for two hundred and fifty dollars, to fit the new style of rubber pads. Completely unnecessary, except a good way for them to take more of your money. Unfortunately they seem to be the only company that has a roof rack for one of the best selling cars in the US, so they can do whatever they want.

I initially had the same problem as the previous reviewer, also on my 2016 HR- V, but then we realized there was still room to open the Clamp further with the included Allen wrench, and that solved the problem. We also initially measured the “ W ” incorrectly, so pay close attention to the illustrations. Overall, it was easy to assemble and install if you are remotely handy.

I wanted to let others know that if buying used feet for a Honda HRV the only feet that will work are the Aero Feet and the Traverse Feet. The Aero foot kit is 145175( aka 5175) and the Traverse Foot kit is 1792. The Traverse feet went back to 2009 and there are no other foot kits available for any other feet before 2009 for the Honda HRV. The Traverse Foot 1792 Kits are left over so buy them asap if buying used traverse feet as Thule stopped making the 1792 kit and you have to purchase third party. I found all this out after calling Thule multiple times and someone finally saying that these will work as well and it is confirmed on the 1792 box it states for Honda HRV. This is NOT on this site so again wanted to share with everyone. Take care and good luck!!!!** These feet and kit will work on( HONDA HR- V 5- dr SUV with Normal Roof 2016- 2019)

Roof top carriers provide additional storage space for your vehicle, making them ideal for long trips or transporting bulky items. They help free up interior space, allowing for a more comfortable ride for passengers. Additionally, they can be designed to be aerodynamic, which may help reduce wind resistance and improve fuel efficiency.
There are several types of roof top carriers, including hard-shell cargo boxes, soft-sided carriers, and inflatable options. Hard-shell carriers offer enhanced security and weather resistance, while soft-sided carriers are typically lighter and easier to store when not in use. Inflatable carriers provide a flexible solution that can be easily set up and taken down.
When selecting a roof top carrier, consider your vehicle's roof type and weight capacity, as well as the size and shape of the items you plan to transport. It's also important to think about the ease of installation and whether you prefer a hard or soft carrier based on your specific needs. Additionally, check for compatibility with any existing roof racks or crossbars.
Many roof top carriers are designed to be weather-resistant, but the level of protection can vary by type. Hard-shell carriers typically offer better protection against rain and snow, while soft-sided carriers may have water-resistant materials but could be less effective in heavy weather. Always check the specifications to ensure the carrier meets your needs for weather protection.
Yes, roof top carriers can be used for a variety of activities, including camping, road trips, and transporting sports equipment. Depending on the design and capacity, they can accommodate luggage, outdoor gear, or recreational items. It's important to choose a carrier that suits the specific items you plan to transport.
