I like these a lot: They have a nice wide/not too wide footprint. They have good ankle support. They have great traction. They are very comfortable. The waterproofing worked well( as it should because they are new). My only complaint is that padding on the ankles makes them pretty wide at the ankle and that tends to catch debris and funnel it down into the shoe... so they are not my pick for places where there is a lot of trail debris.... or perhaps I should have used gaiters. But they are perfect for wet, slippery, or dry trail conditions and casual wear. To me, the picture makes them look like they have green trim: They are shades of grey, not green-- I was pleasantly surprised by that, and I think they are a good- looking pair of shoes.

The shoe overall is well build with solid traction. They are sneaker comfortable out of the box but I do wish they had slightly more arch support. I got these for shoveling snow, before/after skiing, walking dogs, and other winter use. They 've been very comfortable and provide good grip. Warmth seems good too, but I have n't spent hours outside in them. I wore them as I loaded/unloaded skis and luggage in- 30F temperatures, and my feet stayed warm for those 10- 15 minutes. Beware though. They are waterproof and not as breathable as running shoes. So it ’s a little too warm. The soles are soft too. Luckily the Vibram offers more traction and durability than standard running shoes. However, it ’s squeaky on tile floors when wet. Good purchase.

These are great hiking boots…I live in the Blue Ridge Mountains and have hiked hundreds of miles all over the world. Over 40 years of mountain hiking experience, these boots have served me well. Don ’ t pay attention to the troll who posted several negative reviews under different names, his job is to do that and it ’s really not truthful. These trolls are paid to rag others, because their products can ’ t compete. Besides, Columbia would surely warranty any defects. So, I have used many high end hiking boots from top makers costing twice, even three times as much. These are well crafted with good materials, are very comfortable and lightweight. I find no defects and were perfect in every way. Great traction on slippery surfaces, rocks and grades. Waterproof as good as any high quality brand. I 'm very sure no one makes a better boot for the money, even those higher priced offerings. Columbia works very hard at designing and developing fine outdoor merchandise at competitive prices…backed by years of customer satisfaction. What impressed me most was the comfort and quality.

I have owned Targee II and Targee III, water proof shoes for a number of years and walked thousands of miles. The Targee II have a very firm sole, which I like and will hopefully give some extra life to the shoe! The Targee III, has a much softer sole that has worn down very quickly Less than nine months.

Very flexible shoes. I took them to the Galapagos Islands, and they held out very well on hikes, on boats and are attractive enough to wear out to dinner. They were perfect for the consistent rain in Ecuador. Very easy and convenient to put on. I 'm very happy with them. My only wish is that they worked better with my orthotics. I fit my orthotic inserts very easily into all of my other shoes which are the same shoe size. Not in these. So, I just kept the original Merrill insert in. Totally fine, but maybe a little less comfort.

While I did n't purchase my boots from here I did buy them from an authorized retailer online. These and other Carhartt boots I 've bought are the most comfortable boots I 've ever worn. I wear them over 10 hours a day and they treat my feet very well. I will say I do have to have the wide boot even though my feet do n't seem much wider than anyone else 's.

These are amazing boots. I wear them 12- 14 hours a day. They look great. Real leather so they have to be broken in. Insoles are like tennis shoes and treads are great for not picking up mud and tracking it inside. When I get home from work I keep them on to walk the dog they are so comfortable. Well made.
