Terrible Longevity

I bought it only a year ago and I cleaned it up almost every fishing trip and the whole thing rusted over and is now unusuable.

Poor Construction

I got several years of service from a Marathon Guardian reel and then the bail broke off from the reel. I never saw that in any other reel in nearly 70 years of fishing. I will NEVER purchase another Marathon Guardian reel again. A COMPLETE DISGRACE.

Plastic Frame

T handle where it mounts to the rod anapped first time using it. Waste of money

One Year And Done

Bought two of these last season. I rinsed them with fresh water after every use. Both are virtually unusable this year.

Wrong Reel

I ordered a 8000 and Guardian and a 6000 was sent.

Garbage Fishing Reels

Dont waiest your money poor quality fishing reel its very bad

Equipment Failure

Stainless steel construction, corrosion resistant and aluminum handle are all great but they use standard steel pins to connect the handle arm to the shaft. One season of use and the pin has rusted out. Spinning reels only work properly IF THE HANDLE DOESN'T FALL OFF. Replacement part or contact information for manufacturer not available.

Good Reel At This Price Point

This is a large spinning reel intended for saltwater use. The reel is relatively heavy, but feels sturdy, and the drag is smooth. The bail has functioned properly so far and it casts well. There is minimal slop in the gears and handle and the build quality felt on par for the price point.

I have only used this once so far it has been ok. Spins nice holds a good amount of braid. Time will tell if it is just as good as my other reels (penn)
