I absolutely adore the Rain Defender exterior fabric. Will Rain Defender keep me dry in a cloud burst rain storm? Nope! However I am often required to work outside when it is heavily misting, snowing and sleeting. I have a number of shirts and jackets with a sherpa lining. [ Overall, I ’ m really happy with this Nike sweater! The fit of the sweater was a bit oversized, which was the exact look and feel I was going for. I ’ m a postpartum mother who breastfeeds, so I ’ ve been living in oversized clothes that fit loose, comfy, and easy to move around in to breastfeed my baby comfortably. It was also very warm and cozy while I was running errands in the cool LA winter weather. The material was very soft. I really appreciate the retro look and the classic black and white color combo, which makes this sweater really versatile and easy to match with pretty much anything in your closet. I wore my Nike sweater with a pair of leggings and kept it simple. The only thing I would suggest changing/adding is the same black and white stripes to the bottom of the sweater. I think this would add some more flare and accentuate the retro look more vs. just being black on the bottom. But that ’s not a dealbreaker for me. Overall, I ’ d recommend this sweater for anyone looking for something soft, cozy and oversized with a little retro flare.

Like the other reviewers I was skeptical about how thin the material was. However, after wearing it snowboarding and Nordic skiing as a mid layer, it is awesome. The only downside I can tell is that the thumb holes are aligned in a way that sort of twists the sleeves. Also the seam line across the chest can be a little annoying to feel. Otherwise, warm and worth the upgrade.
