I do n't like reviews that say `` love these '' or some such, since it tells me very little. So... I am 5' 2 and weigh 152 pounds. My inseam is usually 28 inches, no more than 29. I ordered the large and they were perfect in length, landing right at my ankles with a little sag for give in the knees, and for squatting. I have a bit of a straight waist that is short- the waist band is about a 2 inch band that did NOT roll over or down and did not bind so the waist was just right. Fit perfect in the hips, and I have a butt so they stretched without gapping or sagging down in the back. I washed them in warm water, rinsed in cold and hung them up to dry. Dried quickly. They were warm without being hot, did not bunch in the crotch, and I had on jeans over them. Worked outside on the farm and stayed cozy. Went back and bought two more pairs.

`` Heavyweight '' is a little misleading. The fabric is very thin and see- through. On their own, they do n't feel very warm, but worn under jeans or other pants as intended, they function very well. I forget I 'm even wearing them under jeans, and they keep me very warm on cold mornings. A good comfortable base layer. Got the M and they fit great. I 'm usually a 6- 8 in pant size.

Hood, etc). The fit is fairly true- to- size, but I would have expected a bit more stretch in the waist. I 'm usually a 32 in most clothing, and M's feel a bit tight. There's plenty of stretch in the legs which makes for easily climbing, but the waist can definitely be a bit annoying. It's not enough to take away from how great these are, but something to consider if you 're on the border of sizes.

I purchased these for a trip to Finland next January. I love the fit and feel of these pants, They are lightweight and stretchy, which will allow for ease of movement. Also, for traveling, they fit into a small packing cube. I think they will be excellent as a midlayer in Finland's winter temperatures. First let me say that I 'm not a person who wears tights- never have been- but these have changed my mind. I was on the fence about ordering for the longest time and I 'm so glad I finally did. I use these pants when hiking and camping in cold/damp weather. The fleece liner feels so comfy against the legs, and the outer shell is durable. These pants are extremely flattering, but I am not a curvy girl... I 'm more straight- shaped. I could see why a curvy figure would have some issues with the waistband.
