Rated 5 out of 5 by from Ultra light Perch bite on Devil’s Lake I just returned from fishing the east bay on Devil’s Lake ND. Fished in 49 foot of water using 1/64th oz. jig and spikes. I used the Tickle 27” ultra sensitive rod with 3lb test line. We had to dead stick as any jigging motion would spook the fish. After trying several different rods I found that I could only detect the extremely light perch bite in that depth of water was by the very slight movement of the rod tip. Even using a rod with a spring tip did not allow the visual notification of a bite. At the end of the day, all four of our fishing party only caught fish using a Tickle rod. With out it’s sensitivity we would not had the great day on the ice.
