Great Combo

This combo has turned out to be a great purchase and good price

Rod Broke In Half First Time Out

Rod broke in half first time out Pulling in a planer board. I have a warranty claim submitted with Abu Garcia and it looks like it’s under warranty for 3 years. Might have been a fluke. Who knows. Still a great price for the combo and reel is very good. I used it on another rod.

Designed To Fail

I’ve owned 4 versions of Abu Garcia round reels over the last 6 years, and have FINALLY cracked the code. The “cog wheel” in the left side plate is made of vinyl plastic, and interfaces with the brass worm gear. This gear WILL fail after 20 or so hours of use, and the level wind will stop working. After I discovered this I figured I would just swap it out with one of the 3 broken Abu’s I have - they were ALL broken the same way. While Abu will repair it if it’s still under warranty, it will again fail within about 20 hours of use as I believe they designed it to do so. An aftermarket upgrade is available, but I’ve had it with this kind of company. I’ll buy Shimano or Diawa from now on.

Rod Broke On First Cast

Christmas present for my son - first time he casted the rod cracked just above the bifurcation. Extremely disappointed. Dick's return was very simple.

Good Rod

The photo shows a rod and reel combo. I never got a reel with it ? Should I of gotten a reel with it also?

Garcia Bait Casting Combo

I am very happy with this purchase Garcia bait casting combo. I really love the reel and it is very smooth. It casts very easy and the pole is very comfortable in the hand and I like the action of the pole because you can feel everything.

Amazing Setup For A Great Price!

Love the setup.. ive been testing different line to see the casting difference.. recommend 15-18lb max. for best results. well worth the price paid.

Great Product

Great rod and reel. Gave it four stars because the reel quality is not as good as when they were made in Sweden. This product is made in China but it is still a good set up.
