Smooth Casting Smoothing Retrieve Truly I Should Have Bought More Of These Than Other Baitcasters

smooth baitcasting value reel made in China not Swiss made but overall good product for better than average fisherman.

Bad Gear Ratio.

Not for men who catch fish over 10 lbs. Lingcod are impossible to reel in on this do to sbinding and poor ratio. As bad using as spin-caster. Not to be used on any thing other than a bait rod.

Great Reel Overall - Alarm Failure First Season

Great reel overall - very versatile. With enough practice you can get some major casting distance! The only issue I had was the clicker-alarm; it failed after just one season. I regularly cleaned it with freshwater and periodically applied marine grease. No biggie - the parts are available online, just search for "6600 BCX" when entering your model number. Coincidentally, the alarm assembly its self is declared "obsolete". Coincidence... who knows.

Awesome For The Price

In my opinion this is one of the best round reels u can get for the price point. Mostly use for catfish but can’t wait to try for some big stripers and maybe even some Muskie

Great Reel

I bought this reel just under a month ago to replace the sorry example of a reel that came with the rod and reel combo that I received as a gift. Following online instructions, it was a cinch to attach and load it with braided line; and having practicing casting into the river behind my house it casts beautifully without the chronic snarls and "birds' nests" of the old reel. I have rated it at 4-stars vice 5 because the weather has preventing me from actually fishing with it. When it gives me no trouble setting my hook, playing and landing fish while actually fishing with it, I will upgrade my evaluation to 5-stars.

Excellent Product

Left hand wind is a must for me. I am right handed but never figured out why so many people choose to cast with their right hand and then switch hands so they can wind with their right hand. The size and weight are also just right as I mainly fish for striped bass and blue catfish with this reel perfect on a seven foot medium action rod and 15 lb. test mono. I caught a fish on my second cast and anticipate catching many more in the future.

Older Ambassadeur Reel

Have been using my "Made in Sweden" Ambassadeur S.I.X. for something like 20 years, fishing freshwater for anything up to Lake Ontario Salmon to Saltwater Plugging for Bluefish, Striped Bass and Wahoo from boat off NJ coast. "BEST" fishing reel ever made! During all these years of catching fish up to 30 pounds, it has never let me down. Just got another Rod for largemouth Bass and beach fishing in the Gulf, so it needs a good reel. Just hope the made in China reels have the same superb workmanship and Longevity of my S.I.X.

Very Smooth

I havnt gone fishing with it but the retrieve is very smooth. I recomend light line. I wish it had a higher gear ratio.
