Better Than I Expected

Excellent condition, would have never guessed it was open box if it weren't for the price (and the packaging itself). Only issue I've had is a bit of the insulation coming out through the weave in the outer layer of the jacket. Shouldn't be enough to cause any problems in the near future, but eventually it may be a larger issue. The heating works well, though I am definitely planning on upgrading to a larger battery. It does the job for my standard night at work, usually no more than 3-4 hours outside, but it wouldn't last me a full 8 hour shift if I needed it to. Also, I don't love the battery placement, a zippered interior pocket would be preferable. I use the front pockets a lot, and often find myself accidentally reaching in the rear battery compartment and not the front portion. Altogether, I'm happy with my purchase, especially with the open box discount.

A Little Bulky But Get's Some Love

Got this jacket for my son who can't stay warm even when the sun is out, and it is 70 degrees outside. He really likes it. He has used it a few times for outdoor activities and really loves how it heats up to keep him warm. He didn't want to give it a 5 out of 5 because he felt the jacket was a little too bulky. I’m a female and I’m always cold. I researched options for the hottest jacket on the market and this was a top pic. It gets up to 150 degrees and I LOVE it. The jacket even turned off is wonderfully warm. I also love how it has the style of a Carhart. The battery is not bulky at all and it also charges your phone if you need it. The three settings are very clear and intuitive. Okay now for a few other items of note: this jacket was made for a male build so women will likely have a smidge of a tight fit around the waste. High temp only lasts about 2H so get the exterior pack you WILL want it on certain long days out and about. Also, regarding the black version of this jacket, the dark color and type of material shows everything. You will need to wipe it down and use a lint roller daily to make it look nice. Even with those areas of consideration I am extremely pleased with this product. I’ve been recommending it to everyone and would definitely buy again.

Really nice quality better than I expected. Heavy duty and thick. Nice on the inside too. Keeps me nice and warm in Lake Tahoe. Would love to see heating elements in the sleeves, pockets or hood in future models.

Quality Control Needed.

I received this jacket last year and was unable to wear it due to the battery pack cord coming from the outside pocket, wrapping up and around the back of the left arm, over the left shoulder, to the chest button. This cause the coat to fit poorly, and pull quite a bit. I couldn’t even zip it up past half way because the button was pulled over to my left shoulder. So I cut the stitching and had to re-run the wire and see it back up. I ended up cutting the stitching in the interior pocket to have the battery pack on the inside of the jacket to stay out of the cold and protected from the elements. There are some design flaws with this jacket and possible quality control issues. Other than those issues, everything else is great. It gets hot in this thing for sure. I also ditched the small 6,000 mAh battery bank for a 20,000 mAh battery bank for longer heat. Moving the battery bank location to the inside of the jacket should also increase battery life due to being warm as opposed to freezing cold. The jacket also is not heavy like a carhartt. I wish I could put this heating element into my carhartt for the perfect jacket. All in all, it could be better for sure and it’s unfortunate mine had a manufacturing defect. When the battery dies, you’ll want a sweatshirt beneath this thing for the extra insulation it lacks.
