Certain slides are very stiff and have even cut my foot, but these were very firm, yet cushy. It's not foam, so don't expect something your foot is going to sink in to. Unfortunately, I paid attention to some other reviews and the sizing recommendation and ordered a size larger. It was too large. I would have been fine with my normal size - even with my narrow foot.
