I purchased the Adidas cleats from Dick's in Tempe, AX on April 18 to replace my 12 month old pair of New Balance cleats. On May 3, after wearing them for just over 2 weeks (3 games/8 practices) the shoe and cleat parts separated. I played our final 2 games with my new cleats wrapped in athletic tape to keep them together. I tried to return the defective cleats to Dick's and was told unless they can resell a product, Dick's would not accept a return and refund the purchase price. A manager at the store informed me that I would need to discuss returning the cleats for a refund with Adidas (the manufacturer). According to the manager even if Dick's sells a defective product it is the customer's responsibility to try getting a refund from the manufacturer. I guess customer service ends once Dick's has their money. After wasting a couple of hours on the phone with an Adidas customer service representative, I believe we have an agreement they will issue me an Adidas GIFT CARD, but they wouldn't refund my money because I purchased the shoes from Dick's. Dick's has the money for the purchase, I guess this makes sense, but now I have a $150 gift card to purchase something from Adidas that I don't want/need. I will be replacing the defective Adidas cleats with the same New Balance cleats I have worn for many years - and definitely will not be buying anything from Dicks! Lesson learned that when shopping at Dick's, customer service ends after they have your money.
